50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

Everyone is carrying Marshalls around here, and I've resisted trying it for some reason.

had a hopslam on tap...pretty good but not blown away like i was expecting, need to drink again

lagunitas sucks growler....man, tastes/smells like literal wet hops in your mouth...weird, can't say i liked it but want to try again

Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat growler...another weird beer for me, honestly tasted like tang or orange soda...when i pretended it was grapefruit juice, i liked it

I had Shafly's Tasmanian IPA last night for the first time, good beer.

I also had some Goose Island Bourban County Stout, just wow. I found it good, really good sipping beer but for the "style"Mother's Single Barrel Foggy Notion is better.

A friend left 2 12oz bottles of it, they are $5 a piece.I think I have more beer left now after the SB than I had when it started and we drank a bunch. Thats some good friends. Good beer too.

Had Innis & Gunn Scottish Stout aged in Irish whiskey barrels. First stout I've had, didn't like it until I paired it with apricot espresso chocolate chip cookies. Then it was fantastcal.

Bourbon County Stout and Foggy Notion are hardly comparable considering that one is a stout and the other is a barley wine.

West coast IPA is too bitter for its own good. But Greenflash does have a good brewery\tasting room though.

Awesome beer run. Found two Bourbon County coffee stouts... easily the best coffee stout I've ever tried.

Where'd you find the Bourbon County Cherry around KC?

I suppose I was comparing them as barrel aged high gravity beers not as specific types.

I know FN Single Barrel uses sherry barrels and the Bourbon County uses, well, bourbon barrels and that is different as well as barley wine vs stout.

IMO they are the same style of beer though I know not the same type.

I am fine if you don't agree with that. I think one of the recent things with beer now is people get too caught up in trying to define and catagorize every one as being a "this". Yes most beers have their roots as something but we are getting way past traditional brewing and aging methods now.

Edit: And no I am not trying to say there isnt a signifigant difference between a barley wine and a stout as far as types of beer go, I am just saying they are taking all kinds of beers and doing similar ageing processes now. Mainly with high gravity beers.

I like almost all styles of beer, some better than other depending on season.

Picked up a bottle of Grainstorm yesterday. I enjoyed it. Tasted like your typical IPA, I thought. I wasn't blown away but it's a very drinkable beer worth the $8. I guess Blvd has set the bar so high with their Smokestacks that I has high expectations. I want to be clear, there was nothing bad about Grainstorm.
