Comparing stats 14 years apart is some dumb shit. Brady has always made big plays when it counts. He's managed games, but he's never been a game manager.

I'm not comparing stats from then to now. I'm merely pointing out that back then it was mainly the Pats defense that was winning the Pats championships. It was not just Brady.

The guy whose post I replied to is one of the idiots who thinks football is an individual sport. It is not.

I have stats to back up my point.

Pats Ranks

2001 Offense Rank Total Yds - #19 PPG - #6
2001 Passing Yds Rank - #22
2001 Defense Rank Total Yds - #8 PPG - #6

2003 Offense Rank - Total Yds - #17 PPG - #12
2003 Passing Yds Rank #9
2003 Defense Rank - Total Tds - # 7 PPG - #1

2004 Offense Rank Total Yds - #7 PPG -#4
2004 Passing Yds Rank #11
2004 Defense Rank Total Yds - #9 PPG - #2

So don't give me that BS that Brady was the main reason they won their first three championships. He wasn't. Their defense was. Eventually he became the GOAT but lets give credit where credit is due. Pats D is usually always good when they win the championships.

You can also look at the year the Packers won their SB with Rodgers. I think their D was top 5 in yds and #2 in ppg.

Now I'm not saying Alex is as good as those guys but lets not act like Alex is the only QB that needs help. They all do. Defense is still and always will be extremely important when it comes to winning championships.

He needs a buffer year. Maybe more beyond that. But a full two seasons? Makes zero sense at all.
