That's what I'm wondering. There would have to be something else present, other than normal toaster innards, to cause an explosion like that. The toaster just has some normal heating elements in it, that would not explode like that, even when shorted.
But the explosion looks real in the video. So I'm confused..... Who's going to try it to verify the results?
