*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I'm so glad he's not a whiny little bitch like Ben, creepy like Russell, or a pretentious prick like Aaron. We struck gold when it comes to personality and on field play.

Why are people scared he's going to leave?

Mahomes won't leave here either as long as we pay him. Seriously one of the silliest things I've seen this board get worried about.

So my hope is that things return to normal, wide receivers learn to quit dropping passes in the end zone, and Mahomes throws for 3 touchdowns. 1 touchdown pass the last 10 quarters has left me antsy to see some more Mahomes magic.

The first thing my 16-year old daughter asked me when I told her how awesome Mahomes was going to be was “are they going to be able to keep him?”

Even causal fans don’t see the Chiefs as a top tier team. When you’ve been a fan for 35 years and been through all of what the Chiefs have done in the time, it’s easy to see why people would worry about it.

It takes longer than 6 games to get rid of “because Chiefs”.

But it's not MLB, everybody has the same money to pay (unless your the 1998 Broncos)

In the NFL it all comes down to good decisions by the front office

Because the Chiefs front office has made so many good decisions over the last 30 years...

What the Chiefs front office has done the previous 29 years has no bearing on what they do moving forward.

What Mahomes has done for this franchise is evident in the fact KC was on the cusp of trading for Earl Thomas before the injury. When has KC ever made a major trade in season? Or attempted to I guess I should ask.

The old ways of thinking need to go away with Alex Smith. Its obvious the Chiefs have changed their way of thinking.

And worrying about shit that wont be an issue for 3 years is just a stupid waste of time anyway.

Like not drafting a 1st round QB?

Why the hell would anybody trade up for a 1st round qb and then not keep him when he winds up being pretty good?

Total utter nonsense. I understand battered fan syndrome, but I had no idea it reduced its sufferers into drooling mongs with IQs below 50

Jesus some of you are pussies. He’s not going anywhere. This is the team him and his agent wanted. Reid will still be the HC when it’s time to pay up.

0% chance we lose him.

Any decision the Chiefs made prior to 2013 is irrelevant

We've been one of the better franchises since 2013 (when the Reid era started). Now Reid finally has his quarterback. 2013-2017 was the trial era. 2018 and the future is the bigtime, win now era with a franchise quarterback.

Guys, simmer down.

It takes more than 6 weeks to flush 30 years of suck out of one’s system.

The Chiefs haven't given Mahomes, as of a now, a reason to not want to stay here. The city ****ing loves this kid. They've surrounded him with weapons to help him succeed. Plus he's with a coach that he likes and his agent has a good head on his shoulders. Now don't get me wrong....he's going to cost a METRIC **** TON of money to keep him. But I don't ****ing care.....you keep the kid.
