Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Dan Patrick this morning (paraphrasing):

If Mahomes is that good (the hype right now), why didn’t he go #1 overall? You mean to tell me that Andy Reid is the only person who saw it? He’ll cool down eventually, he has to.

Reid wasn’t the only one. Two other really good QB coaches (Payton/Arians) wanted him at 11 and 13. Funny thing is he would have gone #1 if the media gave him the kind of non-stop blowjobs they gave Baker and Deshaun. He has zero baggage and generational talent. Not his fault people chose to ignore him.

Oh I know, I’m just pointing out what an idiot he is for not knowing this.

Couple that with Tech's poor record during Mahomes tenure and everybody labeled him as a "guy with great talent but can't win". The guy outplayed Mayfield in head to head competition, but lost the game.

Some days he's blown away by Mahomes, other days he spews this crap. It's just about the ratings.

I saw Bayless whining about how bad Oklahoma’s defense was for Baker. “It was terrible, ranked in the 50’s.” Yeah how about a defense ranked 120-125? That’s what Mahomes had his whole time at Tech. Kingsbury would not be on the hot seat if we had a defense ranked in the 50’s like Oklahoma.

Harder test?

Jags at home this weekend or at New England with Belichick having 10 days to prepare for Pat?

For Mahomes?

Easily the Jags. 10 days isn’t going to change the fact that the Pats defense sucks.

I'd trust what I see on the field long before I'd trust the retrospective infallibility of NFL coaches.

Did Brady go in like the 5th round?

It's a different test, Jacksonville is talent, they really don't do anything confusing or exotic they line up in about 2-3 defenses and just say you can't beat us.

Patriots are going to show him about 50 different looks and try to mess with him.

I disagree. Dan isn’t a “hot take” kind of guy. He honestly thinks people saying Mahomes reminds them of Rodgers/Favre/Elway is ridiculous. He’s a ****ing moron that should stick to basketball.

I’m more concerned about the refs trying to hand that game to the Patriots. Jaguars defense will be his toughest test of the regular season.

I've noticed over the years a lot of the older guys refuse to admit anyone currently playing is better than the past or even close to it.

You know it’s coming that as soon as he throws one INT in a game people like him or Mangini will say he’s been figured out and he is back to being a turnover machine.
