To your question about 2022, what made us successful despite that? Having prime hall of fame GOAT level players like mahomes, kelce and jones helps. One of them playing on a mind blowingly cheap contract. Having an almost unblemished run on defensive players in the draft and right DC right time helps. It helps that we were only weighed down by a very friendly future mahomes contract and not a previous one too. But mostly it was having lots and lots of picks who contributed right away. Our future success came because unlike buffalo or the chargers we cut our losses at the right time and we had a clean cap.

Our next rebuild won’t include kelce and jones or even a peak version of mahomes. Our best way out is when the time is right, stockpile lots and lots of picks. And that comes with major sacrifice. So on the one hand, the next rebuild will be harder. On the other hand despite your concern about spending draft capital and dollars, did Orlando brown or Frank clark or mathieu send us in a death spiral? No. If we make bold moves today we will bounce back quickly.
They stockpiled picks, by trading Tyreek. That's it. So yeah, if there's a situation like that, maybe trade a guy for a bunch of picks. I'm skeptical that happens again, but who knows.

Frank Clark was the reason the defense cratered in 21, but they got it build back fairly quickly.

But they also didn't have to cut any of those guys you mention, outside of Hitchens. Letting guys walk in FA, happens yearly.

They were 25th in dead cap in 21, 29th in 22, and 28th in 23.

They let those guys walk, traded Tyreek and gained 2 extra early picks, IIRC.

We are in the last 2 years of high quality play for Chris Jones and Travis Kelce, 2 HOF players instrumental in the 3 SB wins.

I say we push as hard as possible to win the next two SB's and do a soft reset, restock after that.

It is not normal to gut an entire wr room and secondary in one offseason. It was a massive overhaul. And the 2022 DB class was a huge reason our defense wasn’t a tire fire. That doesn’t happen without sacrificing tyreek.

If there isn’t a tyreek trade in the future then how are you going to get enough draft picks to pivot? You’re so worried about losing one pick for a WR who can help you today, but shit on a strategy that can land you lots and lots of picks in the future? There will come a time when we need an experienced piece or 2. That time is today. There will come a time when we need a significant haul of young draft talent. That time is tomorrow. We’ve proven we can do both of these things without needing to half ass one to get the other

There not giving him away. They gave 5 picks to get him. They are not just taking a 3rd in a trade. So your going to have to give them a haul. Then your probably going to have to extend Tryeke to fit under or work the money and he is going to be back wanting to be paid as a top 5 wr. We just have got us back into the situation we got out of and praised for being smart by doing so.

We are not going to be able to cover up things as easily when we lose a total of 3 HOF players.

We survived losing 1.

We won't be the same after Jones and Kelce are gone.

Right now we have a lot of chips in on Rashee and Worthy being great and the money being freed up when Jones and Kelce call it quits. Having the Goat at QB and willing to play cheap also covers a lot of holes.

I don't know why but our own fans can forget the NFL is won by STARS. We have the greatest star of all in Mahomes but he has had 2-3 HOF players with him in every SB victory.

Stars win Championship games.

Odunze would be awesome...on a rookie contract...saw him play at Washington...he'd fit perfectly with Mahomes but of course, I/m dreaming

The team only has ~1.5 years left of Rice before he has to get paid. He might be gone by then as well.

We are never in a reset with Kelce, Mahomes and Chris Jones.

We will be when those two retire or become ineffective. We've not ever seen it, yet.

What does 2027 have to do with acquiring a Tyreek Hill right now?

Are you trying to say that go Rams right now because we might not be good three years from now?

That's ree-runned.
