This saved TFA for me best light saber duel since Maul vs obi and Jin.

Left me all excited for the next film with unanswered questions.

Pretty much the exact opposite feeling I had leaving this movie.

I LOVED IT. It was everything The Force Awakens wasn't.

Everything I was going over in my head that could come off as a rip off of ESB didn't happen in this ****ing movie. A hamfisted I am your *relative* scene? Someone getting captured or frozen in carbonite? That goofy bullshit about Snoke being a force vampire? NONE OF IT HAPPENED.

This was even better than Rogue One. It was just FILLED with pure moments of Star Wars joy and emotion.

Leia using the force in a way that didn't come off as goofy, but was instead graceful and a nod to Carrie Fisher IRL? YES.

Luke talking to R2-D2 like it was 1980 again? YES.

YODA looking and ACTING like a CG version of the puppet from ESB? Lecturing Luke one last time? Frank Oz perfectly delivering lines like he stepped out of a time machine? HOLY **** I CRIED. HE HIT HIM WITH A GHOSTLY GIMER STICK.

The Falcon showing up to save the ****ing day, and then burrowing through Crait's caverns WHILE THE ****ING MUSIC FROM RETURN OF THE JEDI PLAYED? NERD BONER.

BB-8 PILOTING AN AT-ST WALKER AND ****ING SHIT UP?

LUKE DRINKING GREEN MILK?

And the climax....my god...the climax. Handled perfectly. I was feeling bummed when I heard the rumors of Luke's death, but it didn't come the way I thought it would at all. I thought he was going to show up and take out Snoke at the end, sacrificing himself in the process. This was perfect, right down to him staring into twin suns as he becomes one with the force. Totally punking that little bitch Kylo on his way out.

I was sad, and yet really happy, because Luke Skywalker was just handled so perfectly in this movie.

And Rey. Really worried when I saw that shot of her with Kylo's saber in the trailer that she was going to be way too overpowered in this. But they handled her character progression and conflict about what to do perfectly. I actually thought she was going to turn in this movie, but it would have been completely unbelievable. They really wrote her well in this movie.

I ****ing loved it.

Don't **** this up in IX, JJ.

i still dont get what happened with Luke....can someone explain? So ne was using the force to transport his out of body self to battle Kylo Ren....but then he dies at the end? I guess im lost as to what happened with him at the end.

Force projected some new power no one has ever seen before one of 3 in this trash movie

1.force projection
2.Force Sheild/flying Mary ****ing poppins style.

Having Yoda in the movie would have been fine, had he not been able to use Force Lightening to destroy the tree. That makes zero sense.

Dude, a canon made from Kyber Crystals, like that of the Death Star, would have annihilated any shield.

And I never said I hated this movie. I don't even know what to think about this abortion of a film.

I swear, these Star Wars villains get dumber with each outing.

It was pretty clear he was extremely distracted by an intense, murderous desire to see Kylo kill Rey at that juncture of the film. He wasn't focused at all.

I mean, if you're going to whine about that, why couldn't Palpatine sense Vader was about to pick his pasty ass up and throw him down the core shaft?

You can poke holes in ANY Star Wars film. I'm really surprised you couldn't just sit back and enjoy this one, man. It was a pure ****ing love letter to Star Wars from Rian Johnson.

Leia floating in space and Yoda's appearance, which makes zero sense, would have made for a much better movie, along with Luke looking over the Ach-To ocean, before hitting the credits. There was no reason for him to disappear into the Force.

So the Leia floating in space thing was a WTF moment for me as well. Then I realized that I didn't really know what happens if you get sucked out into the vacuum of space that I haven't learned from cheap sci-fi movies so I googled it and read this:

"It's a recurring horror in sci-fi: the hull is pierced, a human is trapped without equipment in an airlock about to open, a door needs to be opened in order to expel something undesirable. With no air and almost zero pressure, the human body isn't going to last long without some form of protection.

But what does happen, exactly? Do your eyes explode outward while your blood evaporates? Well, no. The truth is both less dramatic and far more fascinating -- as we have discovered through accidents in space and in test chambers, and animal experimentation in the 1960s.

The first thing you would notice is the lack of air. You wouldn't lose consciousness straight away; it might take up to 15 seconds as your body uses up the remaining oxygen reserves from your bloodstream, and -- if you don't hold your breath -- you could perhaps survive for as long as two minutes without permanent injury.

So now that I know it isn't impossible to survive the elements of space without a suit the only leap I'm asked to make is that Leia was somehow able to force push herself back to the ship. As the daughter of the most powerful Jedi the star wars universe has ever known, who has lived with the knowledge that she has those abilities for the last 30 years - it's not that gigantic a leap to make that she might have been able to learn how to do this small thing. You see the little boy at the end move the broom without any training whatsoever and he's only what 5 or 6? Leia's in the vacuum of space without even gravity to thwart her, a simple nudge would be all she'd need to get her momentum going. When you get past the initial WTF? It's really not that big of a stretch. IMO.
