Have decided that I really do wanna come away with another WR in the first 2 days of the draft.
I think we need it far more than folks want to let on.

I like Scourton a lot. I think I have come to prefer getting one of the late day 2/day 3 RBs to spending on Henderson. I really like Scourton, and also really like Jordan Burch. I'm not sure you can really find much difference between the two of them. Some combination of one of them (Or Tuimolau) and a Sanders, Farmer, Deone Walker is pretty hot to me. I will echoe what DJ has said somewhere, maybe this thread. The mocks I end up liking the most, at least on this simulator, are the ones where I take Burden or Egbuka at 1.31 (or after a small trade-back with the Giants).

Why this position over others? We have 4 great options catching the ball this year. I'd go just about any position other than WR in the first 2 days

We have two WR under contract in 2026 and need to start pivoting to a WR based offense instead of a TE based offense. The only two positions in worse shape for 2026 are S and DT. |

Not opposed to adding depth in the later rounds, in fact i think we should. It looks like our 1st and 2nd round picks the past two years are going to hit. Makes no sense to me to add another one this draft year when we have more pressing needs

Honestly, I feel they need to switch to a predominant WR offense THIS year. Kelce has been the focal point of this offense for a decade+, and while he's not absolutely cooked yet, he might serve the '25 offense way better as a complimentary piece rather than the #1 guy. At least in the majority of games, anyway.

You come into 2026 with rice in year 4, Worthy in year 3 and Burden with a full season under his belt, you're FLYING. And now you've created your ladder. You can extend Rice if you want...or not. You're under no pressure to do so. And again, I think Burden would be a contributor this season. Maybe more gadget stuff, but Brown, Worthy and/or Rice are likely to miss 10+ games between the 3 of them due to injury or suspension. Near term he offers more than Simmons would. Long term more than most would. Now if Harmon or Nolen are there it's a different story. But I'm operating under the presumption that they won't be. So if you're asking me if I'd prefer Scourton (rotational player that may struggle to get snaps over FAU, Omenihu and Danna in 2024) or Conerly (almost certain redshirt) or Kenneth Grant (again, probable rotational role behind Jones/Pennell and not obviously more talented than TJ Sanders who will be around later) over Burden? Nah. Gimme Luther. Or Egbuka. Because I think you see many of the same rotational player concerns with other spots in the roster as well as the same long-term paths to playing time. So gimme the best pure talent. To me, the WRs are better than the rest of the guys I named.

Meanwhile, I don't think we handwave consideration for some really good CBs like Azareye'h Thomas, Trey Amos, or Shavon Revel.. Sure, not a ton of snaps in 2024 sans an injury, but you have a starter next year and beyond. You can't just dismiss the future and look at the now. What about a LB? Would Carson Schwesinger not move the needle substantially over Tranquil? Yeah, positional value might be a thing, but really exceptional LBs make a huge difference. And then, Mason Taylor has firmly been a top-40 player throughout the process. He is a really good TE. He will be a #1 TE in this league. Gray is a great complementary piece. I love him as a #2. I don't think he's going to be the next in a lineage of great TEs here. Taylor could be. And if TreVeyon Henderson is sitting there, as much as there are a ton of great backs in this draft, there is not a more perfect match for Andy Reid and what he likes to do with that position. He would probably see as many or more targets in the passing game as a slot WR would. That kid would turn Reid back into the kid in the candy store that made this offense great. In Brian Westbrook's heyday, he had 73-703-6, 61-616-4, 77-699-4, 90-771-5, and 54-402-5. A couple of those seasons he also rushed for over 1200 yards. Henderson can have that type of passing game impact. I am not firmly on the WR in Round 1 bandwagon. |

I think I just talked myself into Henderson as my 1B to Conerly over Tuimoloau.

I mentioned it elsewhere Crow, but what I've been finding is that I'm not always getting Royals in R2 and I'd need to do a little more work to talk myself into Noel at the back of 2.
Now IF Royals fell to 63, you might be onto something. Something like Conerly/Grant and Royals would very possibly be as good/better than Egbuka/Burden and Ersery/Burch/Sanders (or however that games out). But it has just been my experience that I like what's available to me in the 2nd at DL/OL better than what's usually there for me at WR. And again into the 3rd round when I know have a weapon and a trench player with another trench player on the other side of the ball calling for me with that Titans pick or even a secondary player. I just like the way those drafts tend to go a bit better.

He's been my RB2 in the draft, at least for the Chiefs, the entire time. But I just can't. I can't get there in the 1st round. It's dogmatic, I know. I just can't talk myself into it.
