Rumor circulating that Jerod Mayo is going to be fired


Not sure how reliable this source is but there is a ton of smoke out there that Mayo is an arrogant douchebag that has already broken the locker room.

The nfls biggest issue has always been nepotism and trees. Mayo didn’t get hired because he was black, it was because he was the best available left on a rotten tree. Because bellichick by the end surrounded his staff with tree failures (like Patricia, judge) or his sons. Who else in that rotten tree are you going to elevate?

It was a dumb hire.

If Belichick couldn’t successfully continue “The Patriots Way” without Brady… no way Mayo was going to.

They should have made a clean break hire and with an offensive coach.

Bill bellichick is the DC. Mayo was an internal hire and the organization was developing him to be their next HC.

It doesn’t spell D blank blank. It is patriot tree bullshit. It is no different from some patriot stooge hiring a special teams coach to lead the giants. Or the loooonnnnnnnngggggg history of defensive assistants hired to be HCs even though everyone knows bellichick is the DC.

So again knowing that this org has decades of history refusing to hire anyone outside the bellichick tree, what OC or DC in the bellichick tree was left who hadn’t already failed as a head coach? How in the hell is mayo any different from the gajillion stupid ass patriot tree coaching hires over the past few decades, black or white
