Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

The only thing I can see improving is switching out the receiver top plate with a railed replacement for a reflex sight.

I have friends with converted Saigas and the more shit the put on them, the heavier they get, and the more reliability issues they run into.

My VEPR is reliable as hell if I stay away from soft paper reloads.

Anybody hear about the Eotech fiasco? Basically, their products may not work as advertised, and are getting sued by the gov't. Here's a thread on AR15.com if you really want to read more about it.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/181..._Products.html

And it turns out that Eotech is allowing anybody to return their holographic weapon sight for a full refund, plus $15 for shipping costs. I ended up filling out the form on Monday, got approved today (for the full amount that I paid for it last year), and will be shipping it back by the end of the week. It seems that some people are being asked for a copy of their original receipt, but they didn't ask for mine. Just be sure not to ask for more than MSRP, otherwise you might get denied.

If you want to return your Eotech red dot for a full refund, fill out this form:

http://www.eotechinc.com/return-auth...n-request-form

In the "description of failure" section, just write down that you want a refund of X amount of dollars. You don't even need to give a reason.

The new shotgun came in today. My penis has been erect for well over 4 hours. Should I call a doctor?

Going with the red dot that came with my Sig 556r for now.

If you think your penis is hard now, just wait until you unload 8-10 shells in 2 seconds.

You will be able to shatter diamonds with it.

Odd... isn't it. A shitty manufacturer like Kel Tec actually getting two guns REALLY right.

User of Kel Tec KSG Shotgun Allegedly Shoots His Hand Off, Might Sue Kel Tec

By Dan Cannon

Well, this is certainly an interesting story. According to Lee Williams, the gun writer for the Herald-Tribune, a user of a Kel Tec KSG shotgun allegedly shot himself in the hand, point blank, with a 12 gauge shell while using a Pro Mag Archangel vertical grip.

At this point, Williams is the only source for this, so we’ll likely have to wait on more facts to emerge. For now, here is what Williams is reporting,

An attorney in Virginia preparing a lawsuit that they will likely file against Kel-Tec and ProMag Industries.

It appears that their client was shooting a Kel-Tec KSG equipped with a ProMag “Archangel” polymer forward grip when tragedy occurred.

“The properly installed forward grip slid off the gun rail while the user was pumping the gun, resulting in the user shooting off part of his hand,” the attorney wrote on a lawyers-only site.

The attorney allegedly notes that there is nothing but a polymer nipple holding the grip to the rail and nothing on the rail to prevent a grip from sliding off.

OK. So, there you go. Let’s just assume the above information is accurate for now. First – a vertical grip is not necessarily made to withstand the forces put on it when used as park of a pumping mechanism. Second – even if the vertical grip was faulty, how is that Kel Tec’s fault? Third – the rail is open on the end so you can, wait for it, slide stuff onto it (yes some accessories still have to slide onto a rail before being secured).

I could almost see the lawsuit against Promag, but they’ll likely just say the grip was being used in an improper way (which I tend to agree with). I don’t see how Kel Tec should be liable at all.

I put this in your other thread but if you want to save a little...

Look for a WASR-10, Romanian will do. The wood sucks on them but you can change the furniture out fairly cheap. The internals are pretty solid.

I was VERY close to getting a C39v2 myself. Very reasonably priced.

Decided to go with the VEPR instead. I'm just a sucker for shotguns.
