I believe all news that is good for the Chiefs.

If it isn’t good for the Chiefs, then it’s clearly bullshit.

Tyreek! Tyreek! Who cares about future draft picks? Trade them away for an all-time great.

Good info. It's also worth pointing out that the future years in these deals would be non-guaranteed and they could be cut with no dead money, with the exceptions of Ridley and Kupp. Ridley's 2025 salary is guaranteed, and Kupp has a $5 million guaranteed roster bonus.

In order of my preference:

Trade for Tyreek and let’s go win the next couple superbowls. I don’t care if it’s our 2025 first and third to get it done. If Tua is cooked, you don’t need TH this year and the team would be best served moving him while his value will never be higher. I give this option a 5-10% chance of happening if Tua won’t be cleared, as rumored. They just extended the coach, Tyreek and Waddle and are all in so it’s highly doubtful they would be open to this conversation.

Trade a 3rd or 4th for Dionte Johnson. His skill set would be lethal in this offense and he’s young enough to be able to be a producer during the whole contract.

Same comp for Christian Kirk. It’s almost a 2a 2b situation because Kirk already has a working knowledge of the offense and has a skill set that would eat.

Next would be a 4th/5th for Hopkins. He’s basically Rice. Same style and at his age, he would have a chance to produce at a similar level as RR was …and do so this year and likely next. He’s older, but he still has it and would immediately make this WR group legit.

If you can’t secure a deal for one of those guys, just rally the troops and hope someone steps up.

That is pretty aggressive but I like the thought process. People need to just accept the fact that 2026 is going to be rough. We'll still get dragged to the playoffs because of Mahomes but by then Kelce will almost assuredly be gone and Chris Jones in all liklihood will not be the player he is today.

We should be in win now at almost any cost for this year and the next. This is the exact scenario where you overpay for anyone that makes you great this year and next.

Yup. Like we’ve done before we can rebuild very quickly especially since jones and kelces contracts will be off the books. I know people want to think long haul but we gotta strike while the window is wide open

I always point to how the patriots maintained their dynasty. Reload/rebuild/reload/rebuild… rinse repeat. They stocked the cupboard then a few years later picked an offseason to clean the cap, stockpile picks through trades, make no moves and collect on a shitload of comp picks. We’ve had the luxury of not having to do that yet but that’s a really quick way to reset quickly. And unlike teams like the bills we won’t be hamstrung by a lot of cap manipulation

But what you and others here are advocating is the exact opposite.

The Patriots rarely if ever went out and spent big draft capital AND big cap dollars on free agents. They drafted, they bargain hunted, and they put together the best 52 plus Brady they could manage every year.

Defenses are hard to maintain. Who knows how long we can replicated this dominance. Let alone how we deal with Chris jones’ eventual regression. Or if spags even stays around much longer.

Andy Reid is one of the oldest coaches in the game and there’s no guarantee how long he’ll stay around.

Mahomes is turning 30 and will eventually need to lean into new ways to win.

Travis kelce will probably gone in a few years and we know this offense looks entirely different without him.

There are no guarantees for tomorrow. In fact plenty of signs that we will need a big reset in a few years even without any big moves. I have lots of confidence we will do it, but I also am realistic that it may not happen overnight. What we know for sure is we have a Super Bowl caliber team today.

All that needs to happen, yet you wanna do....what exactly here?

The Chiefs are doing exactly what NE did. Look at how they would squeeze production out of guys no one else would.

It's the NFL. Everything is hard to maintain.

This nonsense about it being harder to maintain a defense than an offense is nonsense. Offensive players fall off or get hurt just as much as defensive players do.

Defenses that are 'trend oriented' ala Fangio's two deep style fall off because offenses adjust and attack the weak points-this is why KC is running the ball more despite Andy's tendency to NOT run, for example. And if Hollywood and Rice aren't out, we're probably scoring 30 plus every week and everyone's thrilled. Spagnuolo's defense is NOT 'trend oriented'. There's no simple methodology to attack it.

Some of you guys would mortgage multiple years in Mahomes' prime just to "guarantee" the threepeat when there is no such thing. There is no guarantee. Not even if they signed Hill AND Hopkins would it be guaranteed. Look at Brady's undefeated team getting beat by Spagnuolo's 9-7 Giants.

No, Veach's process has been extremely, historically astute.

Mahomes plus best 52, and don't screw yourself next year. Have a good shot at winning the SB every year while Mahomes is on the field. Just like Brady's Patriots.

Eh, lotta research out there and proof that defenses translating from year to year is way worse and harder to predict than offenses.
