Does it feel like announcers refer to players by just their first names way more than they used to?

It makes sense with LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, etc. The names that don’t need a last name.

But Josh? Just seems too fan-ish to me.

Allen was throwing against a vanilla D with scrub DB's in his famed 13 seconds game loss.

I prefer that to constantly using both names like we wouldn’t know who they are talking about otherwise.

The biggest thing to watch for is how effective Tucker is going to be.

Nobody forgets it. In fact Josh’s entire legacy is built on that game. Mahomes outplayed him. Patrick was going against the #1 ranked defense while Josh was going against a pretty mediocre Chiefs defense with guys falling down and leaving Buffalo receivers open by 10+ yards.

QBR grades in that game:

97/100 for Mahomes
92/100 for J. Allen

Allen is a legit QB when he wants to be. Superb even.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think the Ravens d has improved considerably which is why I am now moving towards the Bills who are a one man show as far as I’m concerned
