Should Andy rest the starters Christmas Day?

Hear me out. They only need to win 2 of 3 regardless of what the Bills do. So with a win next week, why not rest the starters Xmas day, the 3rd game in 11 days, and give them 11 days of rest for the Broncos? Then get a week off before the Divisional.

I'm pretty sure the coaches and players know how hard the schedule is. Luckily they're not chicken shit like a sizeable portion of the fan base.

They haven't said a word about the extent of his injury other than he could have gone back into the game if needed.

For all we know, he's not even hurt. Stop being such a baby.

Yes I did. Of course nobody has exact %s. I am just pointing to common sense that two games with zero rest on short weeks means he is going to be way less than 100% than a second week with a full rest and rehab. And the Pittsburgh game especially is going to be an especially rough game for him.

Common sense says to get the #1 seed and then rest. If they **** around and miss the #1 seed, that would be monumentally stupid.

Bigger question mark on who is suiting up going into this weekend, Mahomes or Gabe Davis?

We are a defensive team. There is no reason not to expect Wentz to be able to play well enough and beat the Texans at home.

And if we don’t go 2-0 and lengthen or aggravate our star QBs recovery that is not ideal either. If we believe an extra few days of rest can get Mahomes closer to 100% I’ll gladly put it in Mahomes’ hands to close the season out. Sorry, but if we ask Mahomes to play on a very short week after Houston probably knocks him around, I don’t like our odds versus the Steelers on the road. I love our odds if mahomes is closer to 100%.

I think there’s a very good chance we go 1-1 no matter who we play. Give me the option that gets us a healthier Mahomes. I agree this is all pending speculation that this is a high ankle injury. Judging by the hit he took it sure looks that way.

According to Rap, it's a mild high ankle sprain.

That being said, it's amazing to me that people are bitching week after week about Mahomes and the offense and now they're suddenly confident Wentz can come in and beat a division champ. Sure seems like a delusion to me.

Fantastic use of...you know...reason. Makes all the sense in the world to sit him vs Houston.

This will also be CJ Strouds first time facing Spags. Good luck buddy.

?

We allow 18 ppg. Rely more on the run game and give Wentz easy throws. Absolutely no reason we will get boat raced because we just dont have Mahomes. All Wentz has to do is not turn the ball over. Its not like hes a scrub either. He's one of the best back up QBs in the league.

Who said anything about getting boat raced? We've seen this team for 14 games WITH Mahomes. The margin for error is razor thin. We could hold them to 17 and still lose.

And yeah, let's rely on a run game that is averaging about 3ypc. Good way to get beat in a low scoring game.

To be honest there’s a lot going into this weekend I don’t love regardless of who starts. Mahomes with limited mobility against that pass rush behind wanya or thuney at LT isn’t ideal. To me I just think we get a way fresher version of Mahomes against Pitt and in that game you get Humphreys and Hollywood. I love our chances in that.

Wentz is obviously a big downgrade. But I also think he can help us steal one. Andy has these kitchen sink games where we put together a masterful gameplan that hides our qb in the first half that often is good enough to carry us. He’s done it with Chase Daniel and henne. And wentz is much better than those guys. Reid is as good as it gets when it comes to backup spot starts. I think wentz still gives us a good shot purely as a spot start, nothing long term
