Yeah, that was damned near heartbreaking. In the right hands (like the people who did Fallout) it could have been amazing. Instead, they basically went out of their way to alienate fans of both the books and the games. Seriously, who did they think was going to watch it? How amazingly stupid.

As for Fallout, I pretty much dread what might come next, hoping that it won't go the way of so many other shows that started out great and quickly devolved into rancid, woke alphabet soup. The only thing that may save it is the folks at Bethesda knowing damned well who their fanbase is. Hopefully. But when it comes to the modern entertainment industry, hope is pretty much dead at this point.

It's hubris. Instead of making something on their own they have to modify someone else's IP to fit their point of view. It doesn't help when the writer of the books could care less as long as he gets paid.

Hoping that you are right about the Fallout series.

Biggest warning flare is the actor who plays Dane (the Brotherhood scribe who purposefully injured himself with the razorblade in the boot) is a "trans-man," which I assume in factual terms means a batshit crazy woman who thinks she's a man. It was fairly obvious that "he" was a bit off from the get-go.

I just hope that doesn't mean the show is going to devolve into some Maximus/Lucy/Dane love triangle.

That was actually a great episode for the first 30 minutes but uh....why the sudden cutoff just as it was getting good?

Spoiler!

Even when the show is good it manages to **** things up.

Era: TPM
[INT] Jedi Council Chambers. Daytime.

Qui-Gon Jinn informs the council of a terrible truth. The encounter of Darth Maul.

Ki-Adi Mundi: Nah, the sith aren't here Qui-Gon, F what you fought, probably just some weirdo with a red lightsaber he bought off a merchant on Tattooine lol.

Qui-Gon Jinn: I fought him. He was trained in the Jedi arts. A sith Lord.

Ki-Adi: This guy's insane!! First a kid made by the force, now a guy with a red lightsaber? Cmon man, you ok?

Qui-Gon Jinn: Masters, you must believe me...please.

Ki-Adi Mundi: yaya, w.e., fine, send MAXIMUM 2 Jedi to fight this supposed Sith Lord. So him and lil Obi-Wan.

*Jedi Grand Master Yoda nods in approval*

*Mace Windu leans over to Master Mundi

Mace: Didn't you say a red lightsaber wielder took on 6 Jedi about 80 years ago? And they lost? Didn't you also say some random witches created not just one force sensitive child manifested from the force itself, but two?!

Ki-Adi Mundi: haha yeah idk, w.e. man s'all good fr fr.

Mace: Bet

*Mace leans back into his seat

Mace: We'll discuss this later

It's really bad writing how they've already killed off two of the best characters they had in the show. And their deaths were NOTHING.

One got killed by a butter knife because it was "distracted." The other got killed offscreen and we never saw a Wookiee Jedi fight AT ALL.

It's just terribly written slop and then they pile DEI on top of it for absolutely no reason.

Also don't think we didn't see your Jedi council with zero white men. If that was the only thing wrong with the show that'd be fine. But it's not and it's just another distraction.

Sure were a whole lot of asians though! More asians than ever in Star Wars! So many asians we couldn't cast a white man in the male lead and instead had to teach an asian man english from scratch! Because, reasons!

Fake and gay show.

I'm not sure what you considered great about it. Basically nothing happened for the majority of the episode beyond updating exposition which we already knew & the few things that did actually move the plot didn't make a lot of sense.
Spoiler!

I dunno. I was enjoying it until it randomly cut off. The environments were cool.

Then you dive deeper into it and see how much it sucks. Yes, that was bad.
