Let's Talk About Nagy's Playcalling

I think we can all agree that our offense has been "off" all season, minus the Bears and Chargers games. Mahomes hasn't looked himself by and large, and that could well be because of the talent around him, but watching the plays unfold just makes me wonder why some of the plays are being called in the first place.

Today was an abomination on many fronts with the offense but it sure looked a good deal like an Alex Smith game plan, minus Mahomes' patented making something out of nothing scramble drill passes. The run plays were predictable and getting nothing, but they kept forcing them. We threw the ball laterally as much as horizontally (seemingly), and the plays themselves just look, well, off.

Is it Nagy, is it Mahomes, is it the talent outside of Mahomes and Kelce, or is it a combination of all that? Or was this game just an outlier and our annual piss down our legs game as has been suggested, and I'm just OMG-ing for no good reason?

Something FEELS different than in the past so far this season. I would love to put my finger on what it is, precisely.

Nagy made Trubisky and Fields look respectable despite neither being starting QB’s in this league. Pretty much says it all
Pederson won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Don't know what you're talking about about in regards to Fields either, looked completely awful under Nagy.

Nobody cares what Doug did in a month with Foles. Congrats?

The guy has been an abomination in Jacksonville. He’s got an above average talent at QB and has stocked that roster with BTJ, Ettiene, Davis, Kirk and Engram.

It is unbelievable how Doug has ****ed that kid up despite good surrounding talent. He isn’t good.

Idk how anyone can watch what he’s doing in Jacksonville and think he would add anything of value to this franchise.

Trevor Lawrence has 2,004 yards, 11 Touchdowns, and 6 Interceptions.

Pat Mahomes has 2,208 yards, 12 Touchdowns, and 9 Interceptions.

I thought it was interesting that when EB left and they promoted Nagy back to OC, WR coach Greg Lewis left for the Ravens. This was after we won the SB that year. I have the feeling he got pissed that he didn't get the chance at OC. If you look at the WR position during his years as WR coach, we were a lot better. I remember the press asking Andy why he left, and he really didn't answer. I would bring him back as OC. So far I haven't been impressed with what Connor Embree has done with our WR's.

Yeah I’m sure the Chiefs losing their WR1, WR2, WR3 for a month and RB1 having to completely remake their weapons isn’t affecting the QB in any way.

Give Mahomes the Jags weapons and he’s putting up big numbers

Hopkins with Mason Rudolph as his QB got -2 yards against the Bills in week 7. He may have asked for a little redemption

Wasn't a noticable difference in the offense before and after Rice went down with injury.

4 games before and including the Rice injury: 6 TDs, 6 INTs, 903 yards.

5 games after the Rice injury: 6 TDs, 5 INTs, 1304 yards.

You'd really have us believing that Kelce, Hunt, Hopkins, and Worthy is a worse group than Engram, Etienne, Davis, and Thomas Jr?

Both QBs lost their #1 WR for the year, so that doesn't really hold much water either.

I can’t figure out why Mahomes is not playing well this year. I mean Kingsley, Steele, Watson and Hardman are playing meaningful starting snaps through at least 3 games a piece, his TE is 35 and Rashee Rice still leads the WR’s in yards despite not playing since week 4.

How interesting that since acquiring Hopkins, Mahomes has a 6/1 TD/INT ratio with over 800 yards passing and would be on pace for 4,600+ yards and 34 TD’s.

Almost like talent matters

Pederson as OC under Reid was good. As a HC, he may stink.

Extrapolate Lawrence's stats out to a full season and he's sitting at 3754 yards, 20 TDs, and 12 INTs.

2023 Lawrence had 4016 yards, 21 TDs, and 14 INTs.

2023 Mahomes had 4183 yards, 27 TDs, and 14 INTs.

Matt Nagy ****ing sucks LOLOLOLOLOLOL
