Right now I can't wait for the day when we get to sit around and just worry about what we'll do at RT.

If Moore performs and Simmons is healthy and recovered to NFL caliber there's no reason at all that he couldn't play RT. Anything else is just overcomplicating matters.

Okay trying to be a little realistic here. I was onboard with DJ and Duncan not wanting this kid but accepting that it was very likely happening. I’m not gonna lie….I feel better about the risk allocation here as the draft went on.

All of the DL we wanted were gone. All of the picks in front of us from Minnesota on didn’t quite make sense to me. G, safety and LB just isn’t good value in the first rd for what we have currently. Hairston can’t tackle well and is small and Tyleik Williams just isn’t a good enough pass rusher for me. I don’t feel like we missed out on anyone.

As for the teams behind us…outside of Burden, there were guys who either didn’t fit us or line the teams in front of us were luxury picks. UCLA LB? Eh. Higgins doesn’t fit us well IMO and Emmanwori + the 2 OSU backs were luxuries. Add to that another G (who I liked) going to Miami. Nah.

It was basically just Burden. A big reason I was so pissed off passing on him was bc I felt like WR would fall off a cliff…but it surprisingly didn’t. The moment we picked Royals I felt immense relief from taking this kid.

Go read the draft forum if you want the collective thought on Royals. Me, DJ, staylor and others universally liked Royals and thought that after Burden, he was a guy who could give similar type of value here. He was universally thought of as a top 85 or so player and was mocked in the early-to-mid 3rd. Incredible value getting that kid where we did.

And yeah the Brashard Smith pick also helped ease that feeling too bc I think he’s gonna help the offense this year, be it in small doses. Day 3 really calmed me on this risk.

He was the last pick of the first rd, we gave up no assets to get him and actually got a nice looking cover backer with the pick from Howie so I’m not upset about asset allocation. It’s not like we went full reerun like the Jags and Falcons GM stupidly giving up prized future assets to get this guy.

He’s worth the risk to me. And no this team or draft will not crater if he doesn’t work out. Let’s see how it works out.

For the record Jaylen Moore was absolutely brutal when they tried him at RT, that's why their RT was Cole McKivits and he honestly isn't very good either.

Parsing minutiae from Big Red, is this where we are? I guess this is what can be expected in this thread. Give me Tiecher Clockwork Orange style.

Because he sucks and both Reid and Mahomes have lost all faith in him?

Morris is built like a guard, he'll probably hang around the league as a g/t backup but he isn't a very good fit for the Chiefs offense.

I mean, Goddamn, ain't that complicated. Gave a backup OT 20 million guaranteed and spent a first rounder on an OT coming off Patellar tendon surgery. This is after Morris was an inactive throughout the playoffs when we had one of the worst OT situations in living memory. The Chiefs are done with him and you should be too.

How is Wanya built like a guard? He’s 6’ 6” with massive 35 1/4 inch arms. He’s taller and has longer arms than Simmons and Kingsley. He’s built like a prototypical tackle in Andy’s offense.

Look at his body, his body shape doesn't read OT.

Maybe Reid is confident that Andy Heck will get him ready if needed at RT? I dunno. Reid sounded confident in him.
