*** Brett Veach Appreciation Thread ***

I haven't started a thread in many years, but I was thinking this morning (after searching to find one of these type of threads on here) about the Chris Jones scenario. And it would seem to me based on what we know about Veach and Reid, that we shouldn't be concerned.

The ability this team now has to find and develop talent is OTHERWORLDLY.

Chris Jones is an AMAZING talent, but what's the difference between $25m and $30m at the end of the day? Not THAT much. He's set. Jones is just pissed off that the Chiefs didn't sign Frank Clark, so he's being a bitch about it.

But Brett Veach ALWAYS finds a great talent to replace whoever is in there.

He found Patrick Mahomes II and begged the Chiefs to draft him.

The way he assembles teams is something we've never seen in KC and maybe never before seen even in the NFL. And he was born in 1977, IIRC.

So, In Veach I Trust. He will be a pro football Hall of Famer, IMO.

What are some of your favorite things that Veach has done that you'd like to thank him about?

He also drafted 4 Hall of Famers in like 5 drafts in KC.

He’s one of the great talent evaluators in NFL history.

Veach has been great but I don’t understand why we can’t acknowledge that there would be no Super Bowls without John Dorsey as there would be no Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones or Tyreek Hill.

This man built the core of the Chiefs dynasty and Veach fine tuned it.

I would take Veach over Dorsey every time without the slightest hesitation. He may even be a better overall evaluator when you consider his later round picks and the overall quantity of contributors. But, yeah, those picks were unreal by Dorsey and obviously are a MASSIVE reason for our success. I don't really get why people don't think "he did a great job for us in the draft, and then we upgraded with a guy who could also deal with the cap and wasnt a bellend"...both have been huge reasons for our success.

We would have Mahomes without John Dorsey.

He did draft Mahomes, but only because of Veach and his obsession over him. Hill was a gamble that paid off, and Kelce/Jones were good picks by Dorsey. Now they won 1 SB with Hill. The last 2 SBs were absolutely a product of Veach’s drafting more than just Dorsey’s players. You fail to give Veach much credit because of some bizarre man crush on Dorsey. It’s genuinely sad.

From Lance the spoken

Notable players that Brett Veach has drafted since 2020:

Creed Humphrey
Trent McDuffie
L'Jarius Sneed
Isiah Pacheco
Trey Smith
Rashee Rice
Nick Bolton
George Karlaftis III
Willie Gay Jr.
Mike Danna
Leo Chenal
Bryan Cook
Noah Gray
Jaylen Watson
Chamarri Conner
Joshua Williams

This doesn't include 3rd year hopeful Nazeeh Johnson and 2nd year hopefuls in FAU, Wanya Morris and Nic Jones.

In other words, there is a legitimate chance that Brett Veach has hit on 20 of his last 29 draft picks.

Simply put, that's insanely great.

Get Brett Veach as many draft picks as possible.

Serious question. Can anybody name a day 3 pick Dorsey made his entire time here outside of Tyreek Hill?

Veach does the overall job better.

Better with contracts, better with people. He’s just a better fit for where we are now.

But John Dorsey drafted four hall of famers here and built the core of our dynasty. Just because we all love Veach doesn’t mean we can’t acknowledge and thank Dorsey for his contributions to our current run. Because those contributions are gigantic.

The only logical conclusion I can draw from this is Brett Veach had sex with comochiefsfan's mum and Dorsey is his dad.
