I would prefer he play one less game in the postseason. That's the simplest, most common sense way to get him some rest.

Until you play a team with a QB that is accurate and they realize all they have to do is pepper the slot/CB 2

Why play with fire when the #1 seed is on the line? People want Patrick to rest before the playoffs. The most direct way to do that is win the next two and sit all the way to the divisional round.

What do the Texans even have to play for esp if you bench Mahomes? It would take the fire out of that team. They wrapped up the division yesterday.

I think the physical effort of all the additional games since 2018 is adding up. They have a season that is 5 weeks longer than everybody elses. If the offseason is 20 weeks long, roughly, they have 20% less time to recover. Plus, it's been 6 years, average of 5 weeks, they've been locked in and working 30 weeks more than the schlub for a shit heel team. Even if they had a bad year once (which all the contenders except us have) it would give them a reset year.

The physical side is one thing, the mental is another. I think that's where they're wearing down. Nobody talks about it but they're not machines.

The Chiefs (since Mahomes became the starter) have played an entire extra season against only playoff teams with a record of like 17-3

If Mahomes sits this week, I think you also sit him against the Steelers. That basically gives 3 weeks to heal up. If Wentz even goes 1-1, we then bring Mahomes back to beat the Broncos for the 1 seed. (If not, we get the 2 seed so Mahomes gets another week off.)
