This guy is literally the definition of “jack of all trades”. Well except the “master of none” isn’t accurate bc he’s the best LG in football.

I remember we were hot in the Trent Williams sweepstakes, and this signing came out of nowhere. Making him the highest paid guard in history. That was one of the more shocking signings I’ve witnessed, and I wasn’t too thrilled at the time.
But by god am I happy to eat all of the crow. I also assumed with his contract he might be on his way out. Now I’m catering to whatever he wants to finish out his career here. It’s incredible that he’s playing at this level at 32, and can be a functioning LT on a minute notice |

Honestly, I know I'll get lambasted for this, but if this dude balls out in the Super Bowl like he has been in the playoffs, I still don't see why he can't be our LT next year. He's already getting paid like one, and they can find a decent guard for a much more affordable price than a LT, or just use a decent pick on a replacement. Pat has looked more comfortable than he has in 3 years with Joe at LT. That matters big time.
I know, I know, kill me for it. If they can't find a better option at a reasonable price, I still think it's more of a possibility than people want to admit. |

Like let's say they make the biggest swing possible this off season and traded for Myles Garrett leaving us with no picks or money for a new LT. I don't think anyone would have a problem with us naming Joe the LT in that situation. And boy would I love to be in that situation.... |

I’m widdit.
If Thuney or Taylor could slide to LT, at their pay rates, it would make our lives a lot easier. Finding a LG or RT would be a hell of a lot easier than LT. |

Sometimes, the best laid plans are the ones that never come to fruition. Thuney just might be exactly what we needed, even though most of us didn't want him there. Pat sure seems happy, so I really don't need to see anymore than that to know it's a safe choice going forward. I'm betting that Andy feels the same way. |

I was listening to SiriusXM this morning. Solomon Wilcox is always full of shit. He brags up every player in the NFL whether they deserve it or not, so it didn't surprise me this morning to hear him say that Joe Thuney had gone from playing guard at an all pro level to stepping in and playing left tackle at an all pro level. . Thuney has done a decent job, but far from an all pro level. SMH.

I don't want to be this guy but we need to stop drinking our own Kool-aid with the Thuney to full time LT talk. Andy covets guys with elephant trunks for arms.

I still feel like they are going to put on a full court press for Alaric Jackson. That dude is a freaking monster, and is still young. Doesn't seem like the Rams are going to give him an extension before free agency from what I've read for some reason, so that would be phenomenal. |
