***Official NCAA Tournament Thread***

Seeing as Bearcat banned me from the KU basketball thread for daring to use statistics to dispel the constant trashing of the team’s best player this year by far, I’ll need somewhere to put my thoughts for this year’s tournament.

In sum, the committee screwed KU again. Their resume (and wins) should have had them at at least a 6 seed and maybe even a 5. Arkansas is also the toughest matchup they could have had among possible opponents and KU matches up horribly against them (stay tuned as to why).

As far as the rest of the tournament goes, I’m picking Houston to win it all and Kentucky (fraud) to lose in the first or second round.

That’s not counting 2008 Kansas, who would beat them by 40. Unbiased opinion.

This Duke team will have the best KP rating ever but they’ve now gone down at exactly the same stage as 2016 UK. That’s a shame.

Well my bracket has survived. I have Florida over Houston.

To recap today:

We had two great Final Four games.

Houston, who has a majority of their roster constructed by multiyear players or only played at Houston, beat Duke.

Florida is in the title with guys who were playing at mid majors.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but KP ratings aren’t intended to compare teams year to year. They’re snapshots of that particular season.

Regardless though, give me the team with 5 shooters on the floor that beat every team in the tourney by double digits over the team whose best player struggles in the clutch.

They are more effective for comparisons to all of the other teams in that particular season, yes. Still has some use in recognizing the most dominant teams statistically of this era though.
