The offensive weapons are comparable -- the Lions have Gibbs/LaPorta and the Bengals don't, but St. Brown/Williams aren't at the same level as Chase/Higgins either.

And the Lions just keep winning games. Big games against quality opponents. Meanwhile the Bengals keep looking for justifications as to why they lose them.

It's not just talent - the Bengals organizational mindset is just balls.

Zac Taylor's complete refusal to have these guys ready to play when the season starts is one of the strangest damn things I've ever seen. Taylor is 8-15-1 in September since he's been the HC. He's started 0-2 in 5 of his 6 seasons.

It still seems to me like Taylor's an OC masquerading as a HC.
yea I 100% would’ve fired Taylor. He sucks. His management of the Broncos game was utterly perplexing

That should tell fans everything they need to know about Super Bowl "windows".
they’re basically the 2000s bengals with Palmer, Ocho and Houshmanzadah

The ability is there but it's going to take a philisophical change from the front office for any of it to matter.

The ragging on this guy or that guy or front office or coach is what keeps this fun but the truth of the matter is, with an average defense and an average oline, this is a SB contending team.
Yep, I agree, Oline and D was a downfall this year. I had a special interest in Burrow this year(I had him on my fantasy football team), he was very accurate with his passes all year. If we didnt have Mahomes, Id be more than happy with Burrow. But that front office and/or management really needs to dig their heads out of their ass.

That 06 Bengals team should have done some serious damage.

Instead they went 8-8. Very similar to this year.

I don't know if that's even possible. I will say, the quick firings was a bit surprising. These assholes like to do/change just enough to keep your interest piqued, but it's going to take way more than that to get this team back to the playoffs.

There needs to be a lot of big changes, some maybe not even realistic, for this team to mean anything.

Catching lightning in a bottle every 30 years isn't a plan for success. Coaches/players from within to replace good people that leave, isn't a plan for success. Trying to re-invent the wheel, isn't a plan for success.

If Mike Brown allows history to repeat, it wouldn't be surprising.

Bengals fans can point to philisophical changes over the last 5 years, but those are mostly off-field things and things other teams started doing 10 to 20, if not more, years before the Bengals.

I've always said, this FO is always about a decade behind the rest of the NFL when it comes to changing and adapting.

Yeah, I’m thinking they should shut down the franchise and set fire to Paycor Stadium.

Burrow on the 49ers or Vikings would be something.
