Replace Cincy’s WR’s with the Chiefs’ WR’s… and everything else stays the same on Cincy’s roster… and they’d be 2-7.

Run the right route, read the defense, consistently beat his guy in structure. That seems to be a common theme with these guys and I don’t know that I’ve seen this kind of football iq from anyone other than rice and maybe Watson.

And that’s where I just want to see these guys pop. We’ve got to got to have the flexibility to push the ball because defenses don’t seem to have much respect that we can. we need consistency right now way more than we need lightning in a bottle
Man, you guys latch onto these weird things. 'Catch and run' like it's somehow a bad thing? It simply means a guy is good in space as a ball carrier. That's not a 'limitation' necessarily. Are we saying that Toney is just Hardman?

Toney looks like Toney to me, when they actually use him as a WR. He separates, he's electric with the ball. Other than the terrible first game. I have no idea why they're using him as little as they are, or as weirdly when they do.

Go back and watch Rice's college highlights. We've not even come close to seeing what he does best.

No argument that we're not seeing the results we'd all like.

My argument is that there is talent there, it's not showing yet CONSISTENTLY.

Everything is just a click off.

I'd put money on Andy and Patrick locking it in.

Only if you don't know shit about football.

There are any number of reasons for this, namely that the TE is a GOAT who's got a supernatural knack for finding open spots in zones, oh, and passes to backs are generally swing passes in the flat, so yeah, far less chance of being intercepted.

but you enjoy your statistics without any context, it's your favorite thing.

Lol, yeah, I do. "QB throws ball to WR that hits WR in the hand(s). WR catches/drops it." Seems pretty clear cut to me. Either the WR catches the ball or doesn't catch the ball when it hits him in the hands.

And dropped passes aren't a contextual stat. It's literally 'yes' or 'no.'

But it's interesting that you have come up with 'reasons the WRs drop passes,' that are somehow hinged on Travis' GOAT status, none of which has anything to do with whether WRs catch balls.

Cognitive dissonance much?

I mean, you could've just said, "yeah, it's a serious problem that needs to be addressed etc.," but instead, you're so invested in dying on this hill of "It's everyone else's fault but the WRs, you can't criticize the WRs for any reason or your a bad fan/terrible football person!!!"

Maybe Taylor Swift needs to bang the WR room and get them to start catching passes. Makes as much sense as "Travis is the reason the WRs drop so many passes!!!"

you're not responding to what I was even talking about.

The stat in question is your 63% of Mahomes' INT's were attempts to WR's.

Which, when you think about it, is a stupid stat. I'd bet EVERY NFL QB has most of his INT's with WR's as targets. It's a no brainer. First of all there are a LOT of them compared to RB's and TE's. Then there's the nature of the attempts. It's a dumb stat. It says nothing.

If you'd like to say that the WR room hasn't produced as you hoped, that's a legitimate take. But that stat has nothing to do with anything.

the 'drops' I merely said that a third of those were in week one. We've played 9 games now.

That's it. That's all I said.

You think Andy's going to suit up and play WR? You think Mahomes is going to throw passes to himself?

Are you going to be really pleased with yourself if they don't?

And yet, the Chiefs are 7-2, the Bengals are on their way to 5-5, and the goal is to have the best record during the regular season, get a bye, and win the SB, not the WR rankings.

Correct… which is a testament to Mahomes and the defense.

But certain dumbshits in this thread want to claim that Mahomes is the problem.

Your continued refusal to criticize MVS, Toney, and Skyy Moore is hilarious.

You’d rather blame Mahomes and Andy Reid.

Bizarre.
