One of my employees (who I used to han out with) came in and asked for a personal day today. Her husband told her he wantes to get separated until she gains some maturity. She's 23 and he's 30. They've been married for almost 3 years. They just got out from his parents place into their own apartment. THere's a girl who moved in with them who's 18 and still in high school. I tought that was a bad situation from the start. He asked her if she wanted the apartment or the car. The apartment is $700/month, and there's no way she could afford that. She's admitted before that he treats her like a princess while she treats him like crap and acts like a brat. Someone will only put up with that for so long. Then again, he always gave in to her, so what did that teach her? Funny how this happens AFTER he gets dental work and dentures paid for and she borrowed money from her aunt to make the deposit on the apartment. While I feel it's a good wake up call for her, I also believe he picked the wrong time to do it if he's claiming that there's nothing going on with this other girl. He talked her into letting her move in with them due to her having a bad home life. They work together and have gotten quite close. I feel bad for her at the same time I feel she needs it.

There are many things going on in this situation.

1. Why would someone who is 27 getting married to someone who was 20?

2. They've been married for 3 years and just recently moved out of his parents place. What does this guy do to be 27 and married and not have a place to stay?

3. They finnaly after 3 years of being married move into their own place. Good for them. But they then have an 18 year old move in with them? Were the girls friends?

4. Where in Springtown is there apartements that rent for $700/month?

5. He treats her like a princess for 3+ years, then gets dental work done. And suddenly he wants to leave her? I highly doubt the dental work is the reason he wants to seperate.

6. It is possible that he wants to leave his wife for the 18 year old. But his reasons for leaving his wife would contradict him going after the 18 year old.

7. While I'm sure you are friends with her, I really don't feel all to bad for her. She made the mistake of getting married to an older guy, at the ripe young age of 20. History tends to side that girls who get married that young, aren't really prepared for life that well.

Not trying to sound like an asshole, just seems that there is more to the story than you know.

1. I have no clue.

2. They moved in with his parents last summer after relocating back to Springfield from the boothill (he was managing a Price Cutter down there). He's currently an assistant supervisor at one in Springfield.

3. No, she barely knows the girl. Her husband persisted saying that the girl has had a troubled home life.

4. Golden Pond Apartments. That's where I lived before moving here (across from the library). A 1 BR was going up to $575/month. THe 2BR's start at $700. They're brand new and include cable, HBO, high speed internet, and utilities except for electric.

5. I thought it was funny that he waited until AFTER it was paid for (her paychecks helped with that). It was also money borrowed from her aunt that paid for the deposit on the apartment.

6. I couldn't agree more. It could just be an excuse, but I don't think so. This girl also has a boyfriend. I asked my friend why she couldn't move in with him. She said it was they were both still in high school and couldn't afford a place.

7. Trust me, I couldn't agree with you more. She acts like a spoiled brat. We didn't have much in common when we hung out, but she was someone who knew the same people I did (from work), had the same free hours, etc. I think this is a good wake up call for her. He didn't say divorce. He said separate until she grows up a little.

The only thing I might add is that he asked for it just as much as she did. He was 27 marrying a 20 year old. He gave into her when she would start bitching at him. SHe always got her way.
