So, the argument is that the All-22 shows open receivers, but they are in the wrong place or Mahomes is focusing on a different progression order? The Clowns are the ones that fail to see Mahomes is struggling and is PART of the problem. The WR and QB play are both an issue and they need both to get better, and Mahomes as the GOAT plays a big role in that happening. If it's just the WR's, then Mahomes is no different than a 1st pick QB going to a shitty franchise with little talent and struggling and failing. Mahomes will figure it out as well as the receivers, and with this defense, it will be a good year.

Have you ever thought about not being so damn reasonable and instead being miserable? Replace critical thinking with panic and that positive attitude with existential dread. Ignore the good things you have now and instead make up ways it'll all go to shit. Don't be happy it happened, pine for what you've lost.

There are actually fewer missed shots on those plays than I'd have expected - there just weren't many open windows to throw into unless you threw on pure anticipation. Even then, these weren't guys in space.

The Denver defense looked locked in. They just seem to be a step ahead of our offense there.

And again, to the 'Dumb it down' crowd - what do you think those plays were? There wasn't anything complicated in there. Those were pretty basic route combos and Denver just seemed to be reading our minds.

So unless/until Mahomes starts to take those underneath routes to keep them out of those 3rd and long situations, or unless/until he's willing to throw with more anticipation just as he hits the back of his drop to convert 3rd and long, we're gonna have issues.

Agreed. I only saw really one pass for a potential big gain where he had MVS for a TD but he got sacked (starting at :35)

Mahomes just needs to pull his head out of his ass. It feels weird saying it because he's never really been the problem for the most part. It's like we had that one game with all of those drops and he's reverted back to hero ball every down.

How is saying Mahomes is playing bad any less "miserable"? People are just having football discussions man.

Basically all your replies in this thread are shitting on people trying to discuss football. What's the point of you even coming in this thread if you're not going to discuss the topic and instead just post a bunch of ad hominem attacks?

You could tell Andy was trying to create some screens from Rice and Hardman, which worked beautifully. Not sure why he didn't do that more. The SF gameplan last year with Hardman on the jet sweeps/screens would have worked quite well in this game IMO.

They also abandoned Pacheco. Denver drops 3 deep and you aren't running? They put 4 up front most of the time. I just didn't get that.

The only dumbing down that I think is needed is the red zone plays. Andy needs to stop doing the repetitive cute plays. On 3rd and 2 give the ball to Pacheco instead of a draw play to Toney.

The issue on that play is maaaaaybe on a WR.

Denver sent 6. That's on the QB to pick up, right? He either has to see/hit a hot or fire where it's vacated. Mahomes has to know he has that many guys coming and realize that means single-high (has to; he has 4 in the pattern).

So if he didn't anticipate the blitz and didn't set up a hot, then he needs to fire that deep ball. Again, it's a 'throwing with anticipation' problem.

The only reason I say it may be a WR issues is if Mahomes DID spot the blitz, call out a hot and the WR didn't see/run the hot route. That would've ****ed everything up pretty good.

I'm not seeing that at all. He has a pocket as he hits the back of his drop. He often has space to step up.

Where I see overwhelming pressure is on that play I mentioned above (a blitz; different animal) and then there was one other play in there where it wasn't perfectly clean.

I mean he's leaving the pocket on the first play for really no reason. Smith shoves the rusher up the arc - pockets fine there. On several other plays in there he's completely clean.

The OL wasn't a problem on Sunday.

Yeah, I thought the OL was fine.

He's just trying to make too many plays in some of those spots instead of just taking what you got.

So i guess he was at the World Series in Texas on Friday. Got Sick Saturday. When you have a game in Denver on Sunday.

That seems very odd to me. Yeah, yeah, he's amazing and he's young and has a life and all that....

But being at a Baseball game Friday night when you have a game to play in another state on Sunday seems odd to me.

It honestly looked like nobody on the team gave a shit about that game. They figured they would just roll over them with a C game. Too bad they played a D game.

He had to know it was a blitz it was obvious from the start and the OL actually did a nice job giving him time. He was looking to that side of the field but hard to tell if he was looking at Kelce (probably) or Hardman first.
