We get it. He played for Denver and you disagree with me and think he totally earned his induction.
It's just that Mecklenberg retired in 1994.

Davis was drafted in 1995.

Mecklenberg is in the Broncos Ring of Honor, not the HOF and I don't recall any discussions of his HOF merits ever really around here.

I don't think it's possible to blow bad things about the broncos out of proportion.

Whether anybody knew it would fail or not is irrelevant.

It did, and it failed miserably.

We could wonder what they’d look like with a Kirk Cousins or if they’d have made the deal for Stanford instead, but even the latter is 3-6 this year
What could they have done besides giving up 7 high draft picks/players for a declining QB and paying him 300 mil before he steps on the field?

Just about anything they could have done would have been better. How 'bout drafting Fields for starters?

They could have had Josh Allen instead of Bradley Tub.

Exactly this. Get your QB right and then build around him. Surtain is really good, but not a game changer. KC did this for far too long. Great talent across the board but because they tried to win with average QBs they constantly lost in the playoffs. The one trade that they actually made that worked was Montana.

I would much rather watch those teams play vs watching the Broncos.

Not me. Being a Chiefs fan makes me interested in the AFCW. Would rather watch the AFCW teams. That, and watching the broncos suck, would be most satisfying.
