Aikman was talking out of his ass and needs to learn to be careful. In 2024 garbage sanitation workers and drywallers are blowing their paychecks on these games and they're going to think -- based on Aikman's biased opinion -- that they've been wronged. Dangerous situation for the players and team security. And it doesn't matter that the league's clarified and proven that Aikman's wrong, he's already put it out there and he's not going to take any responsibility for what he says (Aikman's ego is otherworldly).

This is true.

I knew beforehand they would ignore it. But it sure was fun dropping in, laying the trap, and watching them meltdown for all the Internet to see.

I like this. Unless I'm mistaken, announcers have to be approved by the league. Tell Aikman he will not receive league approval unless he publicly admits his mistakes. That would be awesome.

Well it lasted one day. Now they've moved on to targeting Mahomes and begging the Bills to injure him on purpose.

This was always going to be the case. It's part of the grieving process. I think this is step 2, the next step is where they all become fans of the NFC after we beat Buffalo.

Now they're flat out saying the Texans lost because of those 2 penalties.

The refs did nothing to stop Houston from only scoring 12 points. No room to complain here.

The people you're arguing with are not going to see reason.

It's like saying Mahomes wins because he's a Virgo. Like, they're starting from a place of fantasy, stats and salient retorts and video evidence are not going to change the mind of somebody saying THE EYE TEST when their eyes are hunting for uncalled offensive holding, the most notorious of "you can call this every play" penalties.

It's confirmation bias and not based in logic at all. I feel like this got a lot worse and a lot more emotional when people started losing real money on games personally

For sure, that's some of it. But I also think it's indicative of our society as a whole. Nobody is responsible for their own failures. It's always somebody else's fault or it's the man keeping me down.

We've become a nation of emotional pussies that wail and cry when we don't get our way.

Go look at Stroud's third quarter run for a first down around the 12 yard line. And look at the blatant holding right in front of the ref ,right to the side he was running. The call was missed and the Texans ended up scoring a touchdown on that drive. If that holding call is made, they're back 10 yards and it becomes 3rd and 20, and they may not score. People see what they want to see and ignore what they don't.

This is actually a fantastic idea. I should go back and find all the uncalled penalties on Texas and post them. Any others you are aware of?
