There were a few big and very iffy calls that went against KC in that game. Like scratching Bolton’s fumble TD off the board.
A few weeks before that, he did the game in Houston, in which there was a massive penalty disparity that almost allowed a terrible Texans team to knock off the Chiefs. |

He'd have to have a huge improvement over the ass-whooping he got from Garrett. I think we'll see DJ as soon as they have confidence he's in game shape.

???? Thuney did fine.. Garrett didn’t have a pressure till the second half.. Run blocking wasn’t great…

If the goal is to have a functioning passing game in the playoffs, Thuney is not the answer. He did "fine" if you're grading on a curve. He's a Guard going against one of the best pass rushers in the league.
He lost in better ways than Wanya Morris was losing, but he still lost at an unsustainable clip. Defenses will figure out ways to exploit our weakest link and whatever protection calls we're running throughout the game. RB chips, TE chips, double TE chips...at some point your LT has to be able to pass block. You can't just handwave the second half of the Browns game away. Plus, Mahomes was clearly favoring that left side and keeping his eyes occupied, which reduces his effectiveness. |

The Browns saw what Thuney is and adjusted. Now there's a week of film on the plan. And I haven't watched much Will Anderson but he might be more dangerous up the arc. He had a great get off and speed coming out.

Thuney is a band-aid. I think you can get away with him for a half against a good pass rusher, or for a game or two against teams that don't have incredibly strong rushers.
We've seen him against Trey Hendrickson and Myles Garrett. He was able to hold his own against each of them - for a time... But each found their way to pressure as the game wore on. For the playoffs, I think you hope that Humphries is good to go and they can get him integrated. That's their best case.
