Currently sitting at 5-5 with a handful of incredibly tough games on the schedule. Very real possibility they miss the playoffs entirely, especially if Purdy has a serious injury.

Shanahan has never relied on a great QB. Would it help, sure. But it's not required.

Purdy is a great rookie contract QB for him. He got to a SB overtime, so that was about as close as you can get without winning it.

But if I was SF, I wouldn't give Purdy what it would take to resign him. But I presume they will?

This year they have had enough injuries that I think don't it represents what the team could have done in a more normal season.
