Did Dave Toub get himself fired today?

He told the media basically that Veach ****ed up cutting Lammons cause he was in the game plan. Basically complaining to the media about it..while having a god awful year.

Honestly, I kinda want someone on defense to come out and say they are going to come out and smack Cincy in the mouth.

I sure don't understand cutting him before the end of the season.

There has to be something more to this.

Yeah, OP’s version of it not remotely reality.

He said Veach is a smart guy who always has a plan. And he had a plan here and this is unfortunately how it worked out.

No part of this is bitching about Veach.

Yeah, that was pretty weak. He did tip the Chiefs hand a little in letting everybody know that there was some kind of a plan that didn't work out. Confirms that the Chiefs weren't happy that the Bengals intercepted them.

Maybe I missed it but does anyone have the quote? I didn't realize this was a thing. I'm not sure it actually is.

I thought Toub said that "Veach had a plan" and it didn't work out. Presumably to get him on the practice squad? Toub said Veach is a smart guy and always has a plan but this was just how it goes sometimes. Felt bad for Lammons since he can't play anymore this year. I didn't hear him criticize anyone in the press conference.

Yeah there we go, it was posted while I was typing up my post. I looked on Twitter and it seemed like people were talking about it there too. I don't understand where it all came from.

Dude, that was barely anything. Who cares. If it takes that comment to fire up the Brrrrrrrridesmaids with a shot at a SB on the line, then they’re bigger losers than I thought. But also, I’m ready for some fresh blood in the ST coaching room!

the same folks that wanted Niemann, Sorenson, O'daniel and others gone are bitching about special teams. We turned over the whole bottom half of the roster. Look at who had played special teams last year and who this year... Yea, it's not going to be nearly as good. Hopefully Butker can make his kicks, Townsend can punt well, and we kick through the endzone after kickoffs...

If an opponent made the same comment about our offense, we’d all be crowing about what a mistake that was.

There was literally “nothing” to be gained by that comment.

The hearing day for the Kamara assault case was finally set up the same day we released him. Doubt it was a coincidence.

It wasn't even a comment. It was a simple answer to a question.

Q: "What impresses you about the Bengals offense?"

A: "Nothing"

If anything it was a "no comment" answer. They were trying to get him to suck their dicks and he chose not to. That's hardly talking shit, and not even comparable to shit like "Burrowhead" "we want Patrick Mahomes healthy. No excuses" etc.
