He helped turn around the 2-14 Chiefs to an 11-5 team in one season. That's an NFL record. He turned the Browns around from 0-16 to 7-8-1. They lost 5 games by 3 or less points points..three of those in OT...and another by 4 points. They had one tie. If just half of those swing the other way...they are 11-5 and in the play-offs in his first year. Dorsey's the shit...Chiefs ****ed up. Did I mention he drafted BOTH Mayfield and Mahomes...and Kelce, Hill, Hunt, Peters, C. Jones...and just landed OBJ? Last edited by BlackOp; 05-15-2019 at 08:20 PM.. |

Let's see how long he can sustain it before crowning him please.
his successor in Kansas City inherited his nice big pile of s*** and had to go about trying to get it straightened out. So far, I'm far more impressed with what veitch has done then what Dorsey has done walking into an ideal situation. Let's wait until the GM playing field is leveled out, and then we'll see who's King.

You could argue that by maneuvering to land Mahomes...it has given Veach a lot of immediate cap flexibility to get Watkins and Clark. Veach has been taken to the woodshed in compensation...both for his own players and others FAs. I guess we are just spoiled..that literally everything Dorsey touched tuned into all-pros. |

How could a team that needs a QB, meet with Mahomes, and then pass on him? Idiots I knew Hunt was gonna be a stud just by watching film. Dorsey is good, but he separates himself mainly because other GMs think it’s smart to pass up on guys like Mahomes. As for KC messing up, both GMs look pretty good. Cleveland gets hype because they had a good young QB+cheap roster, a luxury Dorsey nor Veach never had in KC |

Will Dorsey improve in Cleveland? Or will his cap management cost him in a few years? Too early to tell. |

And again, dorsey's track record in Kansas city is 45% success tops. I've already been through it, posted it up for everyone to see, and I ain't going there again.

Since we're doing the Dorsey debate again... I have another topic I'd like to explore...
Chris Ballard. He's pretty good. I'm not calling him bad or even mediocre. He's a solid, damn good GM. But Christ... the dick sucking people are doing to this guy. Whenever the Colts are brought up in conversation, a bunch of assholes start saying shit like, "Ballard might be the best GM in the league..." or "Ballard is a top 3 GM hands down..." He took over a team with a gimped Andrew Luck, which consequently started sucking, forcing the Colts to actually draft a team around their QB instead of just ****ing around with random shitty WRs. And he has hit on a bunch of their picks. Like, sure... good for him. Top 3? Why? Christ... the Colts are pretty close to being legit challengers to the Chiefs and the Patriots in the AFC all while their QB's mega contract now has some age on it and is turning into somewhat of a bargain. And they basically choose to stand pat in free agency? ****ing seriously? With THAT MUCH ****ing cap room they're just going to sit on their hands? Even notorious cheapskates like Ted Thompson would spend it on free agents whenever he actually had the money available. Like, there are the Brett Veach GMs. Super aggressive. At times he misfires, but when he hits on something, he gets what he wants. Spends his resources. And then there are Chris Ballards who have enough cap room to make Solomon blush and all they do is stick their fingers up their butts. |

Even without Hill, KC has a superior offensive arsenal, especially when you factor in QB+coach. Add Hill and no one comes close to KC |

Chris Ballard is basically Carl Peterson if Carl had a real franchise QB (and not Joe Montana on his last legs)
He's probably going to wear out his welcome in a few years if he keeps this shit up |

That's how you build a dynasty from the ground floor. Dorsey is repeating this in Cleveland...Veach is turning to high priced FAs. He gets a pass in his first shot...how the new defense fares will be his legacy. It's all his choices... That cap space is going to dry up soon...he's going to have to hit on some pro-bowl level draft picks to sustain the Chiefs. |

I'm just glad we only had to deal with a small amount of dorsey's contract work. In that regard, I think we really lucked out in having him hit the road when he did.

once Mahomes has been signed to his deal, that changes everything. at that point, I'll have to take another assessment as will everyone else. but for now, it's the right way to do things. And even I have to admit that given what we had pick wise going into the draft, Veach did a killer job. that move we made to get hardeman was not something that an idiot can accomplish. That move was something that Dorsey would do. That was good trading.
