​A 28-year-old Lake Charles-area woman faces a bevy of charges after Louisiana police said she repeatedly had sex with a 13-year-old boy who she met at the Bible camp where she was a teacher/aide.

According to the Sulphur Daily News, Heather Daughdrill initiated the relationship in June and it continued until a complaint was filed in October. After her arrest on November 29, police told the paper that Daughdrill would pick her victim up from school without his parents' knowledge and subject him to sexual encounters. Louisiana cops also reportedly found sexually explicit texts between Daughdrill and her victim.

But if you look at the basic rule of power and influence the legal argument is the boys had no ability to think clearly as they were subconsciously influenced by her position of authority. If it was a male teacher and girls we'd all be probably saying the dude needs his dick cut off.

Yeah....that's the point of the thread. It's a running joke that if the teachers actually hot then there's no way they "assaulted" a 17 year old male. But if they're ugly, they're guilty AF.

Yeah the power balance means something. But clearly she wasn't shoving these kids up against a wall and "raping" them. I think rape is being used here in the term of any sex with minors. Do we know how old she was at the time? I guess she must have been in her twenties, which removes any gray area like a 19-year-old with a 17-year-old.

But the size/strength imbalance matters too. A male coach can intimidate female players with implicit threats of physical violence and the whole power imbalance thing. Obviously these football players could just shove her onto her ass if they really wanted to get away.

My guess is they more or less liked it at the time, but it was also screwing with their heads, and got worse as time went on. I mean one went to a drive-in movie with her. That's what we call a date.
