People keep wanting to find every excuse other than Pat playing like shit. I don't get it.

This is not politics. You do not stare hard facts in the face, turn to the man next to you, and lie. You do not deny reality. You do not have 3 turnovers on your side of the field and win games.

One man did that. One man ate sacks, threw picks, and stared down WR's. I don't know why. I can't explain it. It happened though. It can both be true that he's the best QB of all time and that he played like a rookie today. That's the truth.

You want to point to coaching and drops you can. They happened. Many people shit the bed. Only one man threw pick sixes. Only one man refused to throw the ball away. The game ultimately depends on him.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

To be fair Veach also drafted Creed, Trey Smith and Allegretti. Thuney was also an amazing signing.

Mahomes won the MVP two years ago after his last playoff loss. He was tuned in from week 1. He needs to do that next season. This should be extra motivation and unlike the Tampa loss where he was our best player, he wasn't good tonight.

Mahomes can do this with a much better OL. With this OL, against this DL, it wasn’t a recipe for success with Brady, Manning, or Mahomes.

Might have to do with the ridiculously high pressure rate the Eagles got without blitzing

We literally saw Tampa win a SB against us exactly the same way, it’s not a mystery what happened out there

I’m not convinced there’s an active QB in the NFL who wins this one today. Mahomes never had the need to press in the Texans game, because unlike the that one, we were down by two scores on 3rd and long and Mahomes threw the exact same INT (for a pick 6) that he threw in both 49ers Super Bowls. Mahomes was the one who took us from losing from two possessions to making this game out of reach - but man, I just am not convinced there’s a QB in the NFL who’d have won this one with the support of one first half rushing attempt and no clear offensive adjustment.

Mahomes played like shit - and look, maybe the All 22 will show he had all kinds of receivers running free - but I think Andy’s first 15 offensive plays got curbstomped, Pat started pressing, and unlike the Niners super bowls the Eagles made us pay for that.

Man, we got some tough Holding calls on us right when we were trying to get something started. It was brutal- and frustrating.

I found myself being pissed at all the bitching about the refs helping the Chiefs. Yes, we got our asses kicked tonight. And no, the refs did us no favors tonight.

We've seen this in multiple SBs in history. All with HOF QBs.

2007 Patriots
2011 Patriots
2013 Broncos
2020 Chiefs
2024 Chiefs

Each of these teams got killed in the Super Bowl because their O-line couldn't block the front four. And some of these offenses were all time units.

We became a defensive team relying on our O to do just enough.

Tonight our O was not even mediocre. They got murdered.

We need to build a real offense again.

2007 Patriots were probably the best offense of all time and they could barely put up points in that SB

It happens when your line gets torched like that, that’s for sure. Veach needs to figure out the LT spot long term.

The exact same thing happened 3 weeks ago and the same man performed well, delivered the football, and did not have multiple turnovers.

Same scenario. Same guy. Much, much worse performance.

In fact the Texans have a better pass rush. They are a faster pass rush. Pat delivered the football the quickest of his career that game. He did not today.

Why? I will never know. Andy's play calling? Pat nervous? I can't state the why. I can state that a guy who highly successful just a few weeks ago vs. a better pass rush failed horribly today. That's it.

Part of why the pressures people keep quoting were given up was he HELD ONTO THE FOOTBALL. You don't get 5 seconds to make a decision.

Empty backfield on your first series communicates to the DC of the Eagles, that you are NOT serious about running game. They probably thought that Andy is NOT serious about running Game. We start our left guard at left tackle communicates that your gameplan that the Chiefs are NOT going to be serious at all about running the ball is full speed ahead. Chiefs had no adjustment and got crushed by the best defense in the NFL this year. That’s all. Great ride by the Chiefs. It had been a fun 3 years, and a lot more good football to come.

Of the 9 most pressured QB’s in SB history (counting tonight), only 1 QB has won a SB and it was Eli Manning.

And the only reason he won is bc the Giants and Patriots had one of the top 8 DL pressures in a SB and one team had to win.

No QB facing this is winning

But two things can be true at the same time - our O-Line is very terrible.
