If we win the SB again this year it was the perfect play.
The SB is the goal - not stockpiling draft picks...

Here's something else that's being overlooked IMO.

Jones repeatedly says he "wants to play in KC his entire career."

Maybe he'll take a slightly team friendly deal? I doubt anyone comes in and blows up the DT market the way the Raiders did with Adams contract and the WR market when we were trying to sign Hill. Also, maybe, if he has to go somewhere else, he'd opt for some kind of team friendly tag and trade or sign and trade so that we're not left in the dust. He seems to have love for KC, after all.

We got pretty good value out of Jones THIS SEASON. Winning is sort of the goal, no?

He turned down $27.5m/yr this past offseason, which clearly disproves that idea, unfortunately.

We will tag Sneed and Jones will let us know what deal we need to match to get him to stay once he gets offers in FA. Most of the big $ DTs signed big extensions this year, so FA won’t have a lot of tier 1 DT options and Jones can play in any scheme. I’m kinda hoping that he doesn’t get the kind of offers he thinks he will and we are able to keep him for a couple more seasons, but I know that’s unrealistic.

I just hope he doesn’t go to a team in the AFCW.

He was a 2nd round draft pick and we had good value contracts his whole time here. We have already got tremendous value out of Chris Jones. Would repeat 100 more times without changing a thing and be elated. Where can we get such a great outcome again? But sometime in the next few weeks it will be time to walk away with our pockets full of chipsand an enormous smile on our face. But today is not that day.

That's the problem.

If Jones gets there 1/4 second later it could be a whole different narrative right now.

Isn't Jones like a year or 2 younger than what Donald was when he signed?

Nice play by Jones to get a hand on it, no question. That's not as easy as it looks. But it was Bolton sniffing out the screen that made it happen.
