I will say if you leave someone out it isn't Alabama. It should be between Notre Dame, Miami and SMU. You shouldn't get to lose to Northern Illinois. Join the Big 10 you ****ing cowards.

And I just checked but Indiana only played two teams with a winning record all season too (OSU and Michigan). They got blown out by one and only won by 5 against the other.

Their resume is probably worse than SMU's. I don't see the difference (other than SMU having to play today).

It all depends if you care about quality wins over bad losses... Alabama was 1-1 against top 10 teams, SMU didn't play any. Alabama was 4-2 against the top 30, SMU 2-2.

If Alabama's out, then yeah maybe don't lose to two of the worst teams in the SEC.

If SMU is out, then yeah maybe have a better record in the shitty ACC.

You clearly hate Alabama, so that's why it's so cut and dry for you, but a case can be made for either... IMO, they're both in that ~12-15 range.

Why does SMU get pushed below Indiana for losing a 3 point conference championship game after having an identical 11-1 conference record with better wins?

You'd have a valid argument if they both had 2 losses. One has 3 losses in the regular season. The other, has 1 loss in the regular season, while their second came while the other one was sitting on the couch on championship weekend.

The difference is Indiana played a bunch of Big 10 teams.

SMU played a bunch of mid major teams that they call the ACC.
