I got the flu back in 2019 and had 104 degree fevers for 5 straight days. Felt absolutely awful and was in the verge of going to the hospital but it finally broke. I have had the flu shot every year after that.

I had Influenza A back when I was 18. Worst I ever felt beyond chickenpox pneumonia. 104F fever, body aches that just hurt hurt, exhausted. Went to the minor emergency the next day and was given a medication called symmetrel. I think that medication probably saved my life.

I’ve only had the flu a couple of times, and most recently 9 years ago. Any time I’ve had it I end up throwing up at least half a dozen times and am pretty much incapacitated for a day or two. Luckily those experiences are few and far between.

I got mine on August 19. Was in a Rite-Aid on a Saturday during an unbusy time and noticed that I could get it done pretty quickly there. I figured the earlier in the season, the better.

Too much antigenic drift in the flu. Plus, flu vaccines are quadrivalent-- two A and two B strains.
