23. Kansas City Chiefs - DL Ra’Shede Hageman, Minn

With Hageman, I see a player that can line up at any one of the spots in an odd man front. He has played a lot of one technique this season, and has contributed at three and five technique as well. His athleticism will be on display at the Combine. That great workout could mean his future is projected as an end in a three man line, but I prefer him close to the center. Finding consistency is the key.

Poe ran very fast at his weight, and lifted alot during the bench press. No other player (including Hagemon or Watt) can compare. That is why the chiefs were willing to gamble and draft him in the top 15 from a small school (memphis).

Drafting Hagemon @ 23 is not much of a gamble. How would I define the amount of gamble? It would be a risk/reward ratio. The risk @23 is far less than @15. The "reward" or "upside" is high.
No, you are the one who brought Poe in as justification for taking a chance on Hageman.

There are a bunch of safer prospects who will be available at 23 over Hageman. I wish Hageman would have tested even better so that he can definitely go ahead of our pick and some other team can waste their 1st on him while letting a better player drop to us.

Ealy destroyed the 3 cone. I suppose he won't be around for us, though.

Kony Ealy has the third best 3-cone time (6.83) among DLs since 2006. Tied with Melvin Ingram. That is outstanding.

Official 3-cone times: Kony Ealy 6.83 Jeffcoat 6.97 Marsh 7.08 Donald 7.11 H Jones 7.16 Gayle 7.19 Crichton 7.19 Martin 7.20 Clowney 7.27

273-lb Mizzou DE Kony Ealy completed the 3-cone drill today in 6.83 seconds. For perspective, that's .12 seconds faster than Sammy Watkins

I think he's a pretty solid 3-4 end.

He can add weight. He's too slow for me to move him to OLB. 4.91 40, yeash, as if Hali wasn't already slow enough.

Sure, if you're suggesting that Catapano is a top 20 talent? Lol.

No, I am stating that Catapano is a developmental 3-4DE.

I actually think the chiefs might have drafted him to play OLB and tried him there during OTA's minicamp. Having failed there they left him on the line. I could be wrong about that though.

I also think that the chiefs carry a finite amount of lineman, and thus cant dedicate too many spots to developmental players.

Ealy wouldn't really be "developmental" as much as he'd be a pass rush specialist for us. I wouldn't draft him, you can get the same player, albiet it'll be a more raw version, in Will Clarke in the 4th round.
