Andy Reid's oldest found dead at Training Camp
Per NFLN. No link.

Found dead in his room at Lehigh University. No signs of foul play.

He was a conservative, mediocre coach.

He let Peyton Manning run his team.

Great coaches run their teams, regardless of who the star is.

There is no question that Bill Walsh was the man in charge, even with Montana.

There is no question that Bill Belichick is the man in charge, even with Brady.

There is no question that Peyton Manning was the man in charge in Indy.

Marty had his chances with top tier QBs like Kosar, Brees and Rivers and blew it.

Just because a coach is quiet and stoic does not mean he sucks. I admire Dungy quite a bit.

yea not a bad coach .. yea he had a great QB .. and his D sumtimes stepped up when they had too .....

Kosar was a solid QB, but never on the level of Manning.

Brees and Rivers were jsut starting out when they played for Marty.

He never worked with either in their primes.

That's a terrible comparison.

But I'll tell you, and I've siad this before, both Marty and Manning could have benefitted from working with each other.

Mrty never in his career had a QB that he could trust with the offense like he could have with Manning, and Manning never had a strong leader like Marty at HC.

I firmly believe that Marty would have overcome his fear of losing, and would have loosened his conservative grip on Mannig and allowed his offfenses to play to win with Manning, while Marty would have had a strong voice that would have demanded a bit more balance on offense, which would have benefitted the entire team.

I hated Marty, but I believe he was a better coach than Tony Dungy.

Like I said, Dungy was just Herman ****ing Edwards with an elite QB.

Dungy built a SB winner in Tampa for Gruden. He was a decent coach, not Herm by any means.

Dungy didn't draft Sapp, John Lynch, and Derrick Brooks, the lynchpins of that team's success during the Dungy era, and Monte Kiffen was the architect of that Tampa 2 defense.

The core of those Colt teams, including Manning, that Dungy took over were also already in place when Dungy moved to the Colts.
