Should the Chiefs have traded up to snag Matt Ryan?

Lets have some fun!

Of course that would have meant giving up Dorsey, but at least we would have our QBoTF now.

Thoughts......

It doesn't have to be some huge QB prospect out of a major school in order for it to be a good pick.... most end up busts anyway.

Nobody saw Tom Brady coming....

The right QB under the right system can be successful.

Negative. A dominant DT is probably just as hard to come by as a franchise QB.

There are no guarantees Dorsey will become a dominant DT in this league, but all indicators point to yes...

Matt Ryan was a good pro prospect, and the best in that draft class...but that draft class and the one in '09 probably aren't going to produce a whole lot of star QB's.

Ryan looked good against a Lion's defense who got torched by Turner for 200+ yards.

If you give Brodie a RB or RB's that are on pace for 200+ yards in a game, and I'm sure he'd have a phenomenal game. *Insert joke about Brodie having to stay on the field to have a phenomenal game*

Dorsey pick was fine

Herm is the problem at QB

Ryan would be looking like a bust right now if he was in KC

I'm fine with the Dorsey pick.

But I applaud the Falcons for having the b@lls to take a chance on a QB. We see where playing it safe as gotten us.

As for people saying pass on next years class because the prospects don't look great, hogwash. Nobody knows. There's a lot to play still this year and somebody might emerge.

All I know is this rebuilding process really isn't moving or even happening until we get a quality signal caller and I'd hate to see the Chiefs wait until 2010 because we hope a guy we like might be there when we draft.

We have to move forward.

Yeah, you're right.

I guess WRs never take any time to develop, cause, you know, they don't use the "WRoTF" either.

Or Corner.

Never heard "CoTF".

QB is the only position where the first year is written off as a "learning year", all others are expected to produce immediately.
