72% double team rate, with all the obvious holds he endures, and is a leader on defense. He's a force we might not be able to afford with a generational QB, just like Tyreek

Not sure the Chiefs needed any big plays from Jones against a soft, warm weather Miami team that was completely out sorts in the Negative 25 degree weather. But they will absolutely need Jones and a bunch of other dudes to make some big time plays if they hope to defeat Buffalo & others remaining in the playoff field.
If he wants to make more big bucks then he needs to ball out. At this point he is still in a contract year. I also think when he sat out he realized how much his team mates meant to him. He reversed course and took the bonus option pretty damn fast. I won't be surprised if he doesn't have a change of heart and do what he's always says and he'll retire a Chiefs. Chris and Beach will work it out.

What difference would that have made. He's the one that made an assclown of himself bringing him and his reps to watch us lose a game that ultimately wound up being incredibly important to the playoff seeding. Sure, this is a business, but he may have ****ed us royally with that little stunt and the kicker is the deal Veach offered him was incredibly fair.

Think the team made it obvious how they felt about it when they chose to make him earn his incentive rather than just pay it out and let him rest in a meaningless week 18 game. He's almost assuredly gone one way or the other.

Same

Imagine being at a level of success where you can easily reconcile a Chris Jones just walking

Regardless of whether its the right move or not, this is where we're at as a franchise

Well, he does have some other incentives that he can reach by balling out, if things fall the right way. Although the one with DPOY isn't really attainable unless he just went ballistic in the 3 remaining postseason games. And then maybe not even.

Can't let the guy walk for nothing. Still too valuable. Should be a tag and trade, if we cut MVS, we should have plenty of cap room...if we also rework Pat's contract

Those stats make it pretty obvious why he was first team all pro again.

would you tag Jones over Sneed if they can't reach a deal?

We can sign both Jones and Sneed easily, however this will eliminate any big free agent signings especially at WR but with the emergence of Rice I think we’re good. Go ahead and draft a WR round one

Not happening. He's gonna walk for nothing. KC won't tag and trade him as no team will give up multiple picks along with $30 million per season. They know KC can't afford to keep him on the tag. If KC tags anyone I expect it to be Sneed and if they can't work out a contract he would be a prime candidate for a trade.
