I'm not saying he has to hit on every pick. 2009 aside, when everybody knew he ****ed up as soon as the picks were sent in, the Wolves probably did what they could. But geez... you gotta hit on SOMETHING in that 3 year stretch. Kyrie Irving with last year's team gives us a good shot to make the playoffs. DeMarcus Cousins or Gordon Hayward in 2010 makes us a playoff team this year. Steph Curry and potentially Demar DeRozan in 2009 added to what we have now makes us a vibrant basketball organization like OKC that looks to win a playoff series or possibly two every year.

Instead, we got NOTHING in that span. And other teams look at us and say, "Here's Dion Waiters. He's pretty good. You could do worse."
The Raptors drafted Andrea Bargnani with their one shot at a #1 pick and have done absolutely nothing as an organization for their 20 year existence beyond the Vince Carter years. It can be worse.

Ha, probably not. But probably because he'd be starting. I have a feeling the guy doesn't give a shit about winning as long as he's starting and getting the ball. Even then he'd probably still find something to bitch about.

I think I'd hate any deal with GS. Lee and his contract aren't at all what Min needs right now. Thompson won't want to be there and/or stay there long-term. That leaves Barnes and he is the definition of meh. No thanks across the board.

Waiters has talent as well, but just not sure about his head. He's already tweeted that he's not interested in playing a 6th man role this season, despite RustShack's pollyanna characterization of the collective mindset of the Cavs.
Is he Derrick Coleman??

They want to give him Kevin Love's money. My guess is they've identified him as the best player "available" in trade, although GSW seems unwilling to include him. He's a very good player, as he will get after on the defensive end to go along with his shooting, but he can't be your best player. They also have Rubio (rumored to want a max deal), LeVine, and Shabazz Muhammed as young guys they'd like to develop. Tough to find time for all those guys if you throw Klay into the mix.

Right idea, wrong player. I think European players would be a golden idea for Toronto. They wouldn't be as eager to move to the bigger US markets and Toronto would be more welcoming to them IMO.

I like Rubio (better than most), but there is no way he should get a max deal.

Lee only has two more years left on his deal. Its not that bad of a deal he is a 15-9 player over his career. Solid power forward for the T-Wolves.

I think the Cavs would take DC's career in a heartbeat for Bennett. DC had several 20/10 years. I don't think Bennett is as polished as DC was coming out of college. Different types of players also.

I think he could turn out to be a Michael Beasley. BEasy was a dominant college player who was a great rebounder. He came to the pros, wasn't quite tall enough, became a tweener who is a decent shooter but didn't ultimately have a defined skill.

That was my point earlier, a market like Minnesota HAS to hit on a Derozan or Cousins pick to make them relevant. I was lucky as a Wizards fan inbetween trading the 5th pick for Randy Foye and Mike Miller slop and Jan Vesely that we got a John Wall. Wizards only had to hit once, and though they completely missed a few times to the point it was vomit worthy like Eric Fisher being picked first overall, I got an added bonus with Bradley Beal. So 2 out 4 ain't bad, and that's what you got to do in a market like Minnesota and Washington. It's currently what the Sixers are also trying to do. This also made GSW relevant again with Curry and Thompson, I remember them having some awful picks before they had Curry fall into their laps because all the teams in front of them were absolutely idiots that year (Memphis and Minnesota lol)

Golden State's draft history is one of the funniest/worst EVER. Talk about AWFUL drafting/luck.

Nope, but I'd guess he believes he has leverage, with Love likely to be traded. Bad PR if you continue to trade away your "supposed" young building blocks.

Why would the Wolves want that? They'd be doing GS a favor.

2016 the cap will rise with the new tv deal. The idea is to load up with as many contracts that you can that will expire after the 2016 season.

His idea was an tournament at the end of the season. The top 7 in each conference would make the playoffs like normal, then the bottom 8 would have a single elimination tournament for the 8th seed. All 16 tournament teams would be in the lottery, and your performance in the tournament wouldn't affect your lottery position.

Maybe I should just drink cough syrup and be more like RustShack.

The Wolves aren't going to get the best value for Kevin Love, but they've got such promising talent already on the roster that any cheap veteran presence they add is going to be just the ticket! Shabazz was impressive in the minutes he played last year, what little was given to him by Old Man Adelman! Gorgui Dieng has put on bulk and was a defensive juggernaut when he started for the injured Pek! Zach LeVine is really impressive in summer league play, and GRIII should be poised to hit the ground running in the NBA more than most rookies! And Corey Brewer put up 50+ in a regular season game last year! He's definitely poised to set his career in motion! Adding David Lee and Harrison Barnes gives us a nice deep team full of promising young talent!
