The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl without a star wide receiver, but they could reportedly make an elite offense even scarier by acquiring DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL insider Benjamin Albright told PHNX Cardinals that Kansas City is the "primary suitor" for Hopkins. He doesn't know the draft compensation the Cardinals would receive, but he said it's more likely they get a second-round pick than a first.

After the 2022 season, theScore's Jordan Schultz reported that the Cardinals plan to trade Hopkins this offseason.

Arizona hired a new general manager and head coach after a disappointing four-win season, and Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million (with a $30.75 million cap hit) in 2023. The Cardinals could seek a clean slate by moving the three-time All-Pro wideout, who turns 31 in June.

Hopkins began his Cardinals career by tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. However, multiple lower body injuries limited him to 10 games in 2021, and he served a six-game suspension to start the 2022 season for violating the NFL's PED policy.

Yet he remains an impact player when on the field. Hopkins totaled 474 receiving yards in six full games with quarterback Kyler Murray last season.

Now imagine what he can accomplish when catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs flourished without a star replacement for Tyreek Hill, but they could still benefit by solidifying the position this offseason. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a free agent after garnering 78 catches for 933 yards on a one-year deal. The depth chart features several talented question marks in Mecole Hardman, Kadarius Toney, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Adding Hopkins could be great news for Kansas City, but terrible for all opposing defenses.

Guys, Veach is playing this perfectly!

OBJs price is coming down.

D Hops draft compensation and his supposed contract demands are coming down.

Competitors for their services are dropping out, daily!

For those saying OBJ says he wont play for 4 million so thats what he was offered. He also said he sees 6 million as 3 million because of taxes. (loose interpretation). So we could also assume he was offered 8 million?

We dont know what he was offered. We do know that if we are the last team standing, Veach lands his man!

You're losing sight of the big picture:

Bills Diggs and Dhop and a defense that's currently a disaster, so much so the DC decided to go sit on a beach.
Bengals Chase and Higgins and a defense that's losing important pieces and an offensive line that considers Brown a big improvement.

Don't get caught up in thinking the arms race is the important thing.

At this point I just want to DHop so we can show how the new mahomes can cook with legit WR talent. I think there are many who think because we’re #1 we don’t have much room to grow.

Probably not, no. Especially since we typically carry 5 WR on the roster.

There are two spots open, and what are we out really, from the offense that won the SB two months ago? Juju. Juju's a good player, but what is he that's irreplaceable? He's a big body possession guy with recurrent knee problems.

They'll bring a youngish vet in with upside, and they'll draft a guy, and it'll be fine.

We're going to have to grow our own stars while we're paying Mahomes this much of our cap. That's totally ok, and the smart way to go. The young guys have to step up.

If people don't think that a defense forcing a three and out, or making critical stops in a game didn't help propel the team to a Super Bowl then you need to watch the game a little closer. It's a team sport. Yes, Mahomes is great and can make up for some deficiencies, but it's a team game and you need all three phases to play well to be successful.
