Again, people are assuming the worst with Mahomes but assuming the best with Wentz. There's a rational conflict there.

Both scenarios are realistic… Mahomes risking aggravation of the injury, and the Chiefs being able to beat Houston with Wentz.

Your calculation that Mahomes’ risk of aggregating his injury is low, apparently ignores the fact he’s been sacked 19 times, and hit/pressured significantly during the past six games.

He's been pressured all year. He hasn't missed a snap until yesterday and that was primarily because they had the game in hand.

There is no risk to Mahomes, any more than any other game.

It seems to me that the goal should be to play less games. The surest way to do that is get the #1 seed.

The counter argument doesnt even make sense unless you assume the chances of Mahomes getting hurt are actually much higher than they actually are.

Josh Allen's passer rating and QBR were effectively the same in 2020 as they were this year. He's been playing at the level of one of the best QBs in the history of football since that time. The fact that he's a threat to beat the Chiefs is something that has been there this entire decade.

The fact that he's that good too is yet another reason to ensure Mahomes is healthy for when they actually play.

I agree. The goal should definitely be for Mahomes to play less games, especially when he's hobbled. Resting him Saturday accomplishes that.

If he aggravates it vs. Houston to point he has to rest...sit him for the Steelers. Pittsburgh has their own issues right now...and will be spent after playing the Ravens. It would be 2 weeks of rest before the Donk game.
