Creed at #3 with 11 pressures allowed 97% win rate
Trey at #17 with 18 pressures allowed 95% win rate

As a team we are 2nd (72%) in pass block win rate and 2nd (74%) in run block win rate.

So one bad spot on this offensive line has completely ****ed this offense to hell? Patrick Mahomes can't handle one weak link when supposedly the other 4 guys are some of the best at protecting him?

****ing Cincinnati has the 29th (52%) pass block win rate and Joe Burrow looks like an MVP.

So either the metric is flawed some way or something is wrong with what we are doing with the plays or something is wrong with Mahomes.
Probably need to account that LT has absolutely nuked games for us this year. Also helps that Burrow is throwing to Chase, Higgins and other solid weapons while Mahomes has had to have the offense continuously remade and reworked all season due to injuries.

Yeah.....the LT has ****ed the offense to tears.

And we can't talk about the QB playing mediocre for reasons.

I think part of the reason they changed the nature of what they looked for at OT was BECAUSE Mahomes didn't entirely trust him. He got a little spoiled by Fisher and Schwartz.
Trusted Orlando enough to win regular season MVP in 2022. Mahomes does not seem very pushy when it comes to telling GM Veach & Coach Reid what to do. We just saw Joe Burrow publicly demanding that the Bengals sign both Tee Higgins & JaMarr Chase. I don't think Mahomes will ever do that. If he didn't do it with Tyreek Hill, he won't do it with others.

Wasn't there talk behind the scenes that Mahomes had told Tyreek they'd keep him around?

I don't think you want your Qb involved in personnel decisions anyway.

The analogy is not exactly 100% aligned, but it may require a replication of the Chiefs strategy when they decided to trade up to draft Mahomes.

Trading up into the top 10 to get their guy, if there is a left tackle prospect they view as elite.

Of course trading from maybe 32nd overall to the top 10 is a bigger hurdle than trading from #27 to #10 as they did for Mahomes, and trading up for a QB vs a Left Tackle can be questioned in terms of value as well.

But if the Chiefs view Will Campbell as an elite LT who can finally lockdown and secure Mahomes' blind side for the remainder of his career... seems like a trade up worth looking at.

I wonder if Mahomes was ok with letting Tyreek walk though? It seemed like Tyreek would get a little selfish at times and Patrick only cares about winning, so I could see him getting annoyed with that shit and signing off on the Hill trade.

I'm not trading up that far for anything but a QB I don't think.

To many other ways to get atleast servicable at LT.

Agree in principle, but I'm not sure serviceable at LT is that easily attained, at the risk of making DJ's point for him. Next year the FA options aren't great outside of Ronnie Stanley. The year after is great, but we'll have Creed and Taylor on whopping contracts, and then we're back to some really thin years.

If we go through the draft and roll the dice on another project that doesn't work out, I mean how many years do we want to keep this going before we commit to a blue-chip? I guess when we stop winning SBs is the obvious answer.

There ain't no way after this year the Chiefs are going to require another really high end draft that puts multiple starters on the field early on.

If Bobby Stroupe is Mahomes mouthpiece as many think he is, then there was clearly some locker room issues with Reek in his last season in KC (as some of us speculated with his vague instagram stories).

But with Andy being Andy, that shit stayed on lockdown.

Potentially the case. Tyreek is a high drama guy.

I mean yeah Kingsley had 2 atrocious games again the Bengals and against the Broncos and Morris had an atrocious game against the Raiders, but those are the only games you could say that he had a turnstile at LT. You're telling me that's enough to ruin the best QB ever?

Or maybe ESPN PBWR is flawed. Hell it's updated through week 14 and has Jawaan Taylor as having only 332 total pass block plays. Mahomes has 464 pass attempts and 50 rushes (pretty much all of those were probably pass plays). So he's dropped back 514 times, but Taylor has only blocked on 65% of those passes?

It doesn't make much sense.

hard to see that happening. They did it for Mahomes because they knew Mahomes was going to be the GOAT. Maybe if they thought there was a legit Willie Roaf but I doubt they would do that for anything but a QB. There are still decent/good LT's taken at the end of the 1st and 2nd round, Veach just needs to hit on one.

Wylie bounced back and forth between guard and tackle and still turned into a serviceable RT.
