Well, if it’s 4th and 2 or less, I’d expect them to go Jo matter where they are on the field.

This board is not predicting a blowout at all. We know this team. It's going to be a close game. And that heavily favors the Chiefs. It just does.
I think this game has a chance to be a comfortable win for us. Not a blowout but comfortable.

It’s setting up for it IMO

The next defender to adequately cover Travis Kelce 1-on-1 for the majority of a game, especially in the playoffs, will be the first.

But set your expectations wherever you wish.

Clearly you have never seen Kelce play or the common reactions to it such as “How is he always open?”

Travis Kelce is the greatest playoff TE ever. He's damn close to being the best playoff pass catcher of all time, right there with Jerry Rice. The idea that rookie Cooper DeJean can cover him one on one is pretty far fetched.

They're playing the Chiefs. They'll go for it pretty much every time, maybe not early in the game, but anything around/past midfield after half, they're probably going for it.

And let's just pretend he does a solid job covering Kelce.

That just means you dedicated your second best cover player to our TE, what's that mean for the WRs?

Hurts didn't exactly light it up on the passing stat sheet this year. They go as Barkley goes.

Arrogant – because the vast majority of fans here cannot conceive that the Chiefs could possibly lose.… And they post accordingly.
Fragile – the first time I brought up anything statistical that challenged their this will be a blowout narrative… I was viciously attacked.
Ok.

I was already wondering if you were a Bills fan from where you're posting, or are Bills and Eagles fans really this similar? I was already surprised to see the disrespect card being played on the Eagles forum.... in ****ing Philadelphia?

If you think some old fashioned internet hazing is being "viciously attacked," I couldn't come up with a better example of fragile... I'd think of all the opposing fans to think they're hot shit when they sign up here, an Eagles fan could at least take a punch (and a light one at that).

The one thing I'll agree with is we do a hell of a job talking ourselves into blow out victories each week, but that happens on most message boards and most message boards don't root for a team that hasn't lost a playoff game in 3 postseasons..... but if you mistaken dumb little comments like 'kill yourself' that we've been telling people (including ourselves) for 25 years as "viciously attacked", I'd also go out on a limb thinking you might also be taking sarcastic predictions and comments of the game's outcome out of context and putting those into this "blow out narrative", too.

The Chiefs CAN lose. Sure. It is possible. The Eagles are good and present some challenges.

But the next team that beats the Chiefs in the playoffs by "running the ball" and "forcing turnovers" will be the first one to do it in the Mahomes era.

Fans here have heard, time and again, over the past half decade-plus from opposing fans like you, who cite regular season stats and DVOA and point differential, and their ability to dominate with the run and control the clock and be more efficient with their drives than the Chiefs. And who don't want to listen to anything but "oh gosh, you're right, the Chiefs ARE DOOMED and will have to get lucky!"

Want to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs? Your offense better be able to go blow-for-blow. That's the real way to do it.
We heard it from Eagles fans a mere 2 years ago.

It's just odd to me that we're supposed to pretend this is any different.

Can they lose? Of course. But they don't do it very often and any argument as to why they will is the same tired old argument they've bludgeoned to death year after year after year.

An interesting one MIGHT have been the Rams with a couple of tough WR matchups, a solid running game and a veteran QB who's won a title and has stepped his game up in the post-season. As well as a championship HC who has the offensive chops to hang with Reid.

At least THAT would've been something different.

But this? We've heard this shit. Over and over and over and over again.

"It's different this time..."

Yeah - we've heard that, too.

Because that would surprise the hell out out of me and pretty much re-emphasizes that the key to beating the Eagles is just keeping him from busting big runs.

Or hell, only let him break ONE. If he gets a 60 yarder but is otherwise contained, we should have that offense on its heels.

Everything just seems so dependent on Barkley breaking big runs.
their run game is very, very feast or famine. this idea that the eagles are hanging the ball off and just punishing teams with constant 5 yard runs is untrue. they’re very much a team that will go, like, 2 yard, 4 yards, 1 yard, 60 yards, 3 yards, 2 yards. turn those 60 yard runs into 20 yard ones and the chiefs will likely hold barkley to under 100

Yeah, there's literally a poll showing nearly half the board that's voted predicts a 1-6 point victory and another nearly 40% predict 7-14.

10% are predicting a blowout victory (and 3 of the 14 are from people who 'predict' 69-0 every game)..... the horror. THE NARRATIVE.
