PFF: Poor game from Fisher

Yup. Very poor game.

Rookie Rollicking

I’m not in the business of making excuses for someone, but how bad is the hand of Eric Fisher (-4.5)? I ask because his performance was of such a level and he seemed to be favoring his hand so often, that the question had to be asked: are the Chiefs doing the right thing getting him game time as opposed to letting him heal?

He had to leave the field after Will Tukuafu got the better of him with 4:05 to go in the first and yet he would return to finish out the first half. That wasn’t the only time he struggled as Ray McDonald was too powerful for him at the point of attack on the opening drive, having no problem working on his inside shoulder and getting off his blocking attempts.

In pass protection, Parys Haralson (hurry and sack), Corey Lemonier (hurry) and Ahmad Brooks (hurry with an assist from some hands to the face) all got past him, while he failed on two occasions to execute cut blocks on stretch runs.

More is expected of the first overall pick.

Alberts a fifth year vet that couldn't hand off a de on a basic cb blitz from a trips set.

Again, Albert is a good player but he needs a lot of work still

I could say the same about you and every other homer who blindly supports Eric Fisher while talking down Albert, simply because the new regime tried to dump him.

brb, watching real NFL games where Albert was perfect in pass protection.

Really?

Then trade down with Miami (who traded up to 3 giving up a second rounder) and take whatever is left while adding a second quality player at a position of need.

It's not like we have real needs on this team or anything...

If the argument is "we already have Hali, we don't need another pass rusher" I'd like to point out that Hali is 30 years old and Sutton likes to use creative blitz packages.
I would like to point out 3 things here.

1. It takes 2 to tango in a trade. This isn't Madden for crying out loud. They wanted to give us a 3rd round pick for Albert. No ****ing way.
2. That so called LT looked like shit and NOBODY in the NFL wanted him. NOBODY.
3. We played a very conservative offense last year that had fewer passing attempts, especially longer dropbacks.

Yeah, I've blindly supported fisher by saying he's a hurt rookie playing a new spot.

The guy is hurt and has played 2 preseason games. He's underperformed up to this point sure, but I don't think you can necessarily expect him to be a top of the line player at his position by week 2 of the preseason.

If he's an average to above average player this year and ascending, that's what you look for

SOME OF YOU SHOULD STEP BACK AND READ YOUR OWN POSTS.

"All we should get from the first overall pick is an average to above average right tackle"

And you guys slam me for suggesting we should have traded down and gotten a guy like Richardson, Star, Trufant, Milliner, Patterson, Floyd...or GOD FORBID EJ Manuel or Geno Smith.

Oops, I said Geno Smith.

I better run because a flock of homers are about to lecture me on how taking a quarterback in the first round isn't what this team does.

How the **** is this not getting dominated?

He got pushed back 7 yards into the QB.

This was just a lazy play by Albert.

And that's not counting the blitz he completely forgot to pickup.

Albert looked like shit?

And nobody wants him because they're already invested with their own LT. What the **** are they supposed to do? Deliberately create a logjam at a position where you want consistency above all else?

No, of course not. Only bone-headed organizations like the Chiefs operate that way.

In his first year in the league, we should expect an average to above average player at his position.

Why would we be concerned about that, we've got the megastud LT to replace him already. Oh, right...
