Does it really matter if we get Pioli if we don't get a poven Coach?
I mean Pioli and Herm will not work.

why would we want some guy that hasn't been a head coach?

We still don't have Pioli, but if he was to accept the job, then I suppose it would come down to whether he thinks any of the available coaches are significant an upgrade enough to move Herm. Otherwise, the talent pool in 2010 of available coaches might persuade him to take a year to evaluate and then make his move.

All that said? I think Herm is done. As much as I think it would have been fair to Herm to let him go when CP was canned, it gives an incoming GM another option, making the job more attractive.
