What are you paying for cigarettes?

We have Indian Smoke shops in Oklahoma who sell them cheap. I buy the cheapest kind I can find. I bought a carton of Echo 100's yesterday for $15.50.

4.25 for Camel, no filter.

They tell you right on the back of the pack: "Don't look for premiums or coupons, as the cost of the tobaccos blended in CAMEL Cigarettes prohibits the use of them."
They got me at almost 5 bucks a pack and brag that I'll never receive a penny off.
But still I buy them...

Heh, you take 9 days a year off from smoking???

What's the matter, don't smoke on holidays??

BTW, don't look at the 28,410 you'll spend...look at the 720 dollars you save by not smoking 9 days a year!

Not a problem. Seriously, though, I don't want to live to 90 if it is what I have been seeing.

I'll be loading up on cartons of Marlboros when I go to Missouri tomorrow, like always. I can generally get them for around $25.

This is a chart of cigarette taxes. As you can see, Missouri has the lowest rate of any state that doesn't have the word "Carolina" in it.

Good point - but there aren't any reservations near me. And I don't trust ordering them online.

I remember buying them on the ship when I was in the Navy. As soon as we were 50 miles from the U.S., federal taxes no longer applied. I could buy a carton of Marlboros for $4.00. Granted, that was 20 years ago, but it was a drastic savings even then.

A PACK of Marlboros goes for around $6.00 in Chicago now. Like I'll ever buy smokes there. fucking thieves.

I was in Korea in 1968 and cigs were $2.00 per carton. And the carton was wrapped in cellophane like the individual packs.

Last I looked Cop was going for $6.75 a tin here but now you can get a can of "Peach, Apple or Cherry" Scoal for $3.25 a can...Anything to attract a new addict I guess...

I don't see the tabacco industry surviving much longer...

Better really load up on them. I suspect we are going to see this tax increase in the very near future.

Wouldn't surprise me - I'm surprised they stayed so low for so long (although I'm sure they'll always be less than the taxes levied by the Peoples Republik of Illinois).

It's about time for me to quit, anyway. That first digit numeral change in my age I got today says so.

I quit nearly 7 years ago. I'm still amazed at how much better I feel today.

I say we try our hardest to hook the Chinese as well as the third-world. It would help the trade deficit.

I'm at the age now where pretty much everybody in my family quit. If they can do it, I guess I can, to. Sure would save a ton of cash, regardless of where I buy them.
