Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect

I don’t care. If there’s a LT in this draft that they feel can be a good quality LT, do it.

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

If we're about getting explosive weaponry back, I'd say TE would be a better place to start than RB.

I’m curious. Where do y’all see the BIG needs? We are pretty solid across the board. I see an upgrade opportunity, especially with DT in the first but we have Chris jones and we could put a better DT next to him but traditionally we’ve wanted a space eater at that spot. where are all the other desperate needs? Our WR room should be pretty solid, especially when rice comes back. RB room needs some help but we should be able to address that later in the draft. We could upgrade at WR but we have worthy, Hollywood and rice. Looking at this roster and seeing the depth in the draft at DT and RB. I feel pretty good about the roster. Maybe we need another safety? But I like what we saw from hicks and Conner. That’s one reason, I think it’s a good year to bolster the oline. We aren’t really desperate at any position and this draft is deep at dline and rb and we can get depth & talent at those positions outside of the first pick.

hahaha - what?!! If you can't see that Mahomes's play was compromised last year because of his offensive line I don't know what to tell you.

Spoiled? I've been in since the Bill Kenney to Carlos Carson days. I'm on a Chiefs message board discussing offensive tackles in a thread titled "Chiefs Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect."

This is going to be the year we start to wean the offense off of it running through Kelce and make receiver play more focal to our attack. Kelce will still be productive enough with Gray and Wiley contributing, but I feel they're changing what we'll look like going down the field. Add a solid pass catching RB in the middle rounds to go with this, and we'll be off and running.

It's also staggering talent to offset when players need to be resigned...Rice had stated he wanted to reset the WR market.

Objectively...RB is the Chiefs weakest position group. Anytime you are dead last in any category...fixing it needs to be a priority.

I'm OK with KC taking a RB at 31...if he's not slow, short and suffering from PTSD. CEH was supposed be THAT guy...doesn't mean you quit trying to land a top talent there.

A true stud at RB would instantly improve this team more than any other position...and rookies usually can contribute from the onset.

We need defensive lineman, DBs, and more explosive offensive weapons. Those are the "needs".

So am I.

You're conveniently glossing over the "trade whatever possible". So are many others.

Like I've said several times, draft a tackle if that's what they want. Just don't "trade whatever possible". That would be a foolish waste of valuable resources.

At the same time, we shut Saquon down in the SB.

Turns out having a good RB didn't mean shit -- what mattered was having a DL that absolutely tortured us without even having to try very hard. That was both a testament to the strength of their DL and the weakness of our OL.

Recent history, even with Saquon, Jacobs and Henry, still supports that there are FAR more valuable positions on the field than RB.

I'd still look to the trenches in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Maybe even the 3rd.

Everybody's backup LT is pretty shitty.

Oddly, we have a BETTER backup LT situation than most. Wanya Morris is a better option for 3-4 weeks than the vast majority of teams have sitting in that spot.

We just need to be less hard-headed about tinkering with the offense when the OT isn't working as we want it to.

Ok, I get that distinction. I'd prefer not to expend additional draft capital either. But I don't think it's crazy to do so if there is someone the team believes will be the solution long term. I'd certainly give up a second round pick to move for a tackle capable of protecting Mahomes' blind side for the next decade. But I'm not smart enough to know whether that option really exists.

I think North Carolina rb may be a little overrated. He seems like a big power back not a lot of explosion. Not sure I’d really be that thrilled with him. Want a scat back type that can catch and hit home runs

Yeah, that's where I get to. I just don't see the options there this year. It's really either Conerly or Simmons. That's it. Taking Simmons is a non-starter for me. So that leaves Conerly. I'd take him at 31. I just wouldn't trade up for him.

I'm convinced Conerly won't be there. Premium LT's are scarce in this draft, so someone will up his grade to take him in hopes that he will eventually be "premium" tier, like so many teams do with so many players they develop a draft crush on.

The closer to the draft we get, the more I think defensive line/EDGE is our sweet spot. I'm holding out hope for one of either Burden or Egbuka, as I've made clear lol, but this is shaping up to be a defensive line first rounder by all appearances.
