Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect

I don’t care. If there’s a LT in this draft that they feel can be a good quality LT, do it.

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

It’s impossible to “adequately address LT” when there are never any options in FA and history has shown that if you don’t have a top 16 pick you aren’t getting a shot.

Half of the starting LT’s were top 16 picks.

Outliers:

Bolles 20th
Darrisaw 23rd
Dawkins 2nd
Raimann 3rd
Mailata 7th
Armstead 3rd

The rest are not good. Good ****ing luck

So 6 outliers spanning over the last 12 drafts.

There just aren't that many people in the world that can play LT. Scarcity and such.

It's why losing OBJ wasn't ideal.

Hasn't OBJ been injured frequently since we moved on?

Never for a second thought we would regret him not taking that insane contract. I think it's safe to say we would have been better off if he had.

This is exactly why I fully expect them to sign Cam Robinson.

I know everyone hates Cam Robinson, myself included. However, the question you need to ask yourself is simple; will the Chiefs be in any position in the near future to acquire a LT who is a better fit and has a better pedigree than Robinson? One who has actually played in this offense before and whom they have several years of film in said offense to judge how he can handle it?

The answer is quite simple, and it makes it all the more clear the Chiefs have no choice but to go overpay the guy. All logic points to it being the only conceivable answer.

It depends on contract structure for me. Taylor is gone next year along with his bloated contract, we can manage a larger than ideal contract at LT once he's gone. If the contract shows $20-22 million a year it's not the end of the world if it ends up being a lot of fluff where we can easily get out of it after 2-3 years, except this time they had better keep churning the position and find a (cheap) long term solution through the draft. I know it's hard and these players don't grow on trees, but we haven't developed anyone there in forever and I'd say it's about our time sooner than later.

Also, if they have to overpay at LT they had better at least have an internal option ready to go by 2026 at RT. I don't care if it's Morris or Suamataia or a 2025 draft pick, it needs to be someone. They simply can't afford to pay a premium at LT this offseason and then be forced to go and do the same thing next offseason at RT.

Seriously these Twatter guys need to **** off with this arm length shit. Did Andy Reid not trade for Jason Peters at one time? The athletic as **** guy that was 6'4" with only 33-1/8" arms and call him "the best LT in football" at the time? This, coming off having the epitome of LT builds in Tra Thomas.

Well, another way to look at that would be the only time Andy Reid has gone after a short armed OT was when the guy was already a proven All-Pro.

Yea he made an exception for a proven player...in the draft they don't do that.

I do thibk they'll make rare exceptions, but it's still the rule.

Do I think they'd take Simmons if he fell into their lap, and they feel good about the medicals? Absolutely, but it's still not a guarantee.

Is Cam Robinson somewhere between 2022 OBJ and 2023 Donovan Smith-caliber?

Because that’s basically what’s needed to win a Super Bowl.

Except they had a Combine formal with Conerly, who looks like a Jason Peters when he came out of college. Similar athleticism, movement skills, and size. At minimum, there is consideration. We're not talking in absolutes like the Twitter tards make it out to be.

I agree that Conerly Jr. might be one of those exceptions.
