When I hear predictions that don't include any sort of specific matchup or tendency, I don't put as much stock into it.

Last week it was, "The Bills will win because of Allen and they're due."

The Eagles pickers say, "They have a good D and Saquan is good." Yeah that's true, but why does that mean they will win? Give me something specific to watch for.

Mahomes has never really been a "back shoulder" QB...you dont see a lot of contested catches like the one with Worthy.

Smith vs Carter is the only 1 on 1 matchup that could swing the game toward the Eagles, imo.

When I think about the last SB matchup these are the facts.

1. They had a 10 minute possession advantage

2. Jalen played the game of his life

3. 415 total yards

4. We had rookies all over the defense

5. Pat had a high ankle sprain

6. Pat's only reliable weapons were Kelce, MVS and Pacheco

7. They scored 35 points

And we still won. So my point is we've already faced them when a lot of things went their way or they had a lot of advantages in certain areas. Now i would strongly argue that the playing field is much more even now than it was back then.

Another thing I find intriguing is like us they played teams in the playoffs at home that they had already played in the regular season. But the difference is all of them were the lowest ranked teams. So they had a familiarity with who they were facing and a confidence that comes with beating them. We on the other hand we had to face the number two ranked team in our conference with a superhero QB. They never had to face the Vikings, Detroit or San Fran when they were healthy. We had to face ALL of the top QB's in our conference and I think that matters.

Lastly Devonta Smith's hamstring issue is something to keep an eye on. He missed games in the regular season due to hamstrings already and though he likely plays it may hamper him during the game if he makes one wrong cut.

I mean, overall, their roster is better imo. But it was last time as well. It's just offset by the QB and HC.

These are two different teams from 2022, I'm not sure there is really much to learn from it. Even the Eagles coordinators are different. This is not Shane Steichen's offense they are running.
